Wish I could claim this old girl, but an elderly gentleman next to me yarded her up.  You guys w/ the "Internet Fish Weight" Ap can judge the weight, but according to his scale she went 24lbs.

Sooo sorry to disappoint. I understood this to be a picture gallery. And are you really giving me crap about the one picture I posted with the glove I use to protect my hand when I fillet my fish? Instead of criticizing, why don't you contribute?

Had the pleasure of watching another Montana HOG get yarded up through the ice.  This girl maxed out the 25lb spring scale that was on hand, so I'm not sure of her exact weight, but she was a beauty.  Congrats to the fisherman that got her on the ice.

There's a lot of "funny" in that remark.  My buddy calls me McMannis for my abilities to shut down the bite on any of the areas he consistently catches fish.  I think all 16 anglers in the area came over to see this fish landed....I'm pretty sure they negated all of my McManis abilities... ;D

This is my 6 year old bigest perch yet, and he nailed the trout in the same hole, trout was 3.5lbs  21" and the perch is 13" and 1.23 was the official weight

he gave jr a good fight we thought it was a pike at first

Bowhtr, a question if you will.
I can remove each side of a perch leaving the rib cage on the body and then remove the skin.
Now I have two nice fillets with the tiny "y-bones" or extra ribs in the meat.
I can't seem to get those out of the fillet. No technique.
Can you describe the way you clean them?

Take the fillets and place them so the tail is towards your knife hand with the skin side down (the skin should be removed as you described above).  Nest place your knife at a slight angle and cut alongside the y-bone toward the tail of the fillet, at the end of the rib cage angle your knife more into the ribs.  You should be left with one clean piece of meat and the other with the y-bones and ribs.  If the ribs are thick with meat turn those over (skin side up) and cut alongside the other side of the y-bone until you feel the rib bones, turn your knife angle and cut along the ribs removing a thin piece of meat.  I usually do not bother with this as the piece of meat is too small to mess with.

Hopes this helps, I will try to take some pics of this nest time I bring some keepers home; if you are interested in seeing them I’ll post them!

Happy fishing!!!!! :icefish:

Not the ling I was fishing for, but a decent consolation prize.  Caught her on a Buckshot spoon w/ cut bait.

Well...all I had with me was a "De-liar" tape/scale, and who know's how accurate it is.  It's been sitting in my tackle box for 20yrs, so it could be more, could be less...
