Title: MarCum LX3 vs VEXILAR FL-18
Post by: jimjoa on Jan 17, 2003, 06:43 AM
Has anyone tried both the Vexilar FL-18 and the MarCum LX3. I currently use a older FL-8 and am going to purchase an additional unit for my wife. I probably will use the new one.
MarCum talks about their higher wattage.
 Any info would be appreciated

 Jim

There is a good description from LoneWolf about 3 posts below this one.  He uses the 18 and his buddy uses the LX3.  Personally if I was you I would get the 18 just because if there is a chance of interfearance between a Vexilar or Marcum you won't have to worry about it unless you don't like fishing close to your wife then get the Marcum. ;D  Also higher wattage doesn't always mean better.  If you are fishing in deep water over 100' higher wattage might help otherwise it will just cause clutter in shallow water.
