Now you have your own thread. Line up and fire away!
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

Ok, I can already tell this thread is going to get out of hand fast. This could definitely be a good post if you guys actually speak constructively instead of arguing.

No need for it to get nasty. Both areas fit the needs of different folks. SD is hot right now (we've all seen/heard about the perch) with multi-species opportunities. IGL is more less consistent now but still can have great bites and allows for great sight fishing (spots on West are gin clear now). If I lived in the middle of both, I'd probably hit up SD more but since I live in Spirit Lake, convenience is a big factor for me. All depends what a person is looking for but both can be great destinations.

Its fishing so it doesn't matter where you go you have good days and bad days anywhere. My experience is that SD really isn't "hotter" it just has more lake options.
Guys in SD tend to run and gun from lake to lake much more when they find a slow bite on a lake than around Iowa.
It may also have something to do with the travel distance as people dont want to waste a trip so they scramble more.
