Got a ghost this year at the St Paul ice fishing convention.  Been playing with it off the deck and really like it.  My dad lives in northern Minnesota and has a 6061 and says it balls up on him when he hits the bottom.  He also drinks too much and doesn’t use electronics so the accuracy of that is questionable.  Keep us posted

Probably aware of this but you need to adjust the spool just like on your bait casters, to keep them from over running.

80 greenbacks for them reels.  i would have to hold one in my grubby dirty hands and use it before i buy on.  and this is an honest question what is the biggest allure for these reels over spinning reels just the line twist?  which is a big thing i am aware of.

Yes the twist is big.  Also, I feel I have more control of my drops, and it is balanced.  It also has less gears to work with so the chances of stuff breaking is minimal.  Similar to a fly fishing reel.

Took my new free fall ghost yesterday. Piece of junk! Free fall did not work. Can’t afford to throw money but it went into the trash.

Did you play around with the drop speed?  I’m assuming you did.

I have 3 -6061s  , I use electronics, I have mine backed off all the way,and control the descent  with a very light touch ,   but I do fish in a shack which makes a difference

Yeah me too.  It’s like a bait caster and you have to finesse it a bit when you start.
