is there any place or anyone who does repairs on ice rods? broke 3" off the wife's favorite rod the other day-ya it was my fault!! I'd like to get it fixed if possible but maybe that isn't an option.

Better sporting goods stores have a kit, usually with 3 sizes of tips & a small stick of heat-melt glue.
Just fix it yourself. ;)2

yes i could glue a new tip on but, i need the last 3" replaced-the sensitive part is what "I" broke off. Like sed, might not be possible to restore to original spec.?
-
I don't think you will be able to add 3" back to a broken tip. About the only option is to glue a new tip on what's left.

that's wut I was afraid of, thot I'd ask anyhow. Thanks.

You can try to splice it, but it will never be the same. Best to get a new one. Weve all broken rods, it happens!

install the frabill titanium wire strike indicator on it.

When I snap a tip off, I just trim the rod down to the next eye. If it is not sensitive enough, then I will put a spring bobber on the end

Good idea!...THANKS!!

Mudhole has all kinds of tips. They were the ONLY ones that had a tip small enough for my St Croix ice rod.
