Optimistically, I think this rain and warm snap may have been just what we needed to salvage something of a season. Come on cold and NO SNOW!

This rain cleaned up some of the crap but didn’t quite open it up where I’ve looked. Ice making temps forecast for Tuesday night thru Friday morning, including some single digits.

Fingers crossed.

Hopefully any snow gets absorbed by the water on the ice and the temps coming will produce better conditions , think positive

I've been getting out down this way the last week or so,.... hoping for better Oneida conditions.
Some nice pickerel on a private lake , trout on Pa. Upper woods pond, and some perch on White lake and Superior in Sullivan County ny.
Caught a real big, 14 1/8" perch that almost tied my pb.

The fish in our lake have no clue what’s about to hit them once that lake gets good and solid!!! 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈

I think the Legend needs to do his arctic cold dance.... on video... for all of us to see... to make sure he really does it!!😜

I ice fished Upper Woods years ago! Don't remember much about it. Does it give up some nice Browns?

It was almost as big as those "super jumbo's" Fred , Snag , Wayne and a few others were catching out off of Shakelton Shoals a few years back !

It used to give up quite a few big browns years ago, Mostly rainbows and a few palominos now.

In the spring when the Delaware and other local streams and creeks are high, muddy and blown out, Upper woods is a great place to go if you are looking for trout. ....especially with kids. Electric motors or oar power only for boats . Shore fishing can also be real good in spring and there is a Handicap fishing platform too.

I want to mention to everyone that I DON"T KNOW WHAT THE CONDITIONS OF THE ICE IS TODAY AT Upper Woods, Superior or White Lake !
I used my spud every step at all 3 lakes. BE CAREFUL ! Very sketchy areas at all 3 lakes. Some good ice , but some real bad ice too.
