should I move my house?
« on: Jan 06, 2016, 10:18 AM »
I'm in nine feet of water, roughly twenty feet from eighteen feet of water. It is very cloudy water yet. It is a spot I've done well in in years past. My question is, would you move shallower to the weeds, move deeper, or ride it out until the water clears? I did see two dandies the first afternoon out, but the first one was spooky, and the second one blasted out of nowhere. Just seeing what others would do.

p.s. What kind of depths are others in?

Personally I like weeds, and hate cloudy water.

7' along a weed edge is just fine for me.

We all hate cloudy water. It would depend on how long you think it would take to clear up.
Cutting a new hole takes time and work. Your choice I guess.

My spearing location cleared considerably in one week. Popped a 41 incher Monday. Ten minutes later
I got an 8 pounder. The next day I saw nothing in 3 hrs. of staring into green water.

 Have fun!

I would find clear water and move..... but monitor your favorite location to see how long it takes to clear. One of my favorite spots clouds the same day as rain, or even warm day run off, and takes 4 days to clear. Others clear quicker. I do abandon the cloudy spots on a dime.

It is just frustrating to me to stare into cloudiness, my confidence that pike will see my decoy from afar, diminishes, and I get antsy. Use this opportunity to pattern your water. Learn how long it takes to cloud/and clear, what areas are not effected etc..... You can develop a back up plan for future seasons.
