The DIY gravity filter, From start to Finish. COMPLETED!!!
bait trap:
When I did the build and posted it up I'm pretty sure I showed the hole saw I used. I wanna say I used a 3/4" for the spray bar hole bc the couplers will extend over the hole and with the silicon it gives it a water tight seal. The 1-1/4" I think it was a 1" as well. To.be sure take the male end of the coupler and take a hole saw and slide it over the threads it should just slide over the threads, that will ensure a good tight seal once assembled.
RickWakeman:
A 1 1/4" hole saw fits over the threads on the 3/4" coupler. I am not sure how a 1" hole saw could make a hole large enough for the 1 1/4" coupler though. ???
bait trap:
I'll run out into the shop and see which ones I used to be sure.
Derag2:
If you glued all your fitting together all you need to do is cut a slit all the way to the edge of the filter and you can pull them off your pipes. Thats the way all your pond filters are they have a hole for the pipe then cut all the way to the edge to slip off the pipe and your good to go.....
FRESH-BAIT:
Bump back to top, that time of year for those looking to build a cheap bait tank
