Warm weather and a strong wind opened Lake Oahe in parts on Jan. 1st. Big waves and huge swells broke up the area where my portable spear shack was sitting. Today a visit to the bay where it was located revealed that my shack was still perched on top of the large ice chunk, but it's now located about 250 yards farther from shore.
I had planned on moving it, but this was not what I had in mind. My spearing will be on hold till I can get my property back.
Fifty-five degrees here today. Normal on this date is 25. North central So. Dakota.
