I've been catching walleyes on tip ups for 20 years or more but last evening I caught my first one on a jig pole on purpose! It was just a little 15 inch slot fish that had to go back down the hole, but I darn near jumped up and did a little dance. Now I've really got the bug, I'm headed out again (to a lake with no slot limit lol) again tonight. The fish was caught on a castmaster type spoon in fire tiger tipped with a minnow head. I should add that I've been trying on and off for the past couple of years to bring this about, but I always end up going back to the tried and true tip ups for their reliability. Thank you to all the walleye chasers on IS for the information to get me started on this personal quest, and here's to many more eyes on stick and string.
