Thoughts and prayers to all those in the path of Hurricane Delta

Eddie.....tomorrow will be another nice day to stand in the river

IW.....imagine frost on the roof would make walking a bit dicey

hope he gets it wrapped up tomorrow

H2L.....glad things went well yesterday, continued prayers sent your way

hoping to get both a couple rides AND a couple more fishing trips in

the shack looks great

TT......hope the airport pick up went smoothly

MrC.....hunting camp is ready for the season

MrWW will be heading that way midweek I think

Drifter.....can't even imagine packing up and leaving paradise

Never got to the leaves yesterday, going to try to knock that off before the forecasted rain moves in this afternoon $:-\$

Good day having a warm up today with the high temperature reaching the mid-seventies. It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow and then like Ice Wanderer's section of NY. rain is forecast for Monday through Wednesday.I'm still seeing limited leaf color change in my area ,there are enough on the ground for the lawn/grounds maintenance company to be here yesterday for the first session of leaf blowing.
Drifter may the wind direction be good so you can get your dock pulled at the cabin. When did you last spend a day at your work place,I assume you will work from your home in Yellow Knife once you leave the cabin.
Ice Wanderer thank you for the explanation on the use of purlins on your new roof installation. May the roofer complete the job this weekend and you have no leakage problems.
Eddie hope you are having a nice day with the family best to you tomorrow with the fishing. Has anyone in the family had a visit with your mom recently hope she is doing well.
whopper Stopper nice job with the leaf clean up good looking place you have there in the woods of WI. I forget to comment on this yesterday nice job by your wife on the pumpkins.
Hunts2long may your wife get past her infection quickly also best to her with Tuesday's surgery on her leg. . may you and your teammates have another good night tomorrow at the bowling alley.

My prayers also for all dealing with Hurricane/tropical storm Delta. Also read that NY.Yankees hall of fame pitcher "Whitey" Ford passed last night or early today at the age of 91. A big loss to the Yankee's baseball family.

Evening all, Joined the walleye team this morning, right off a keeper 20.5" found its way into the box. About ready to turn it loose and head home when I hooked another keeper a 18.5 female, so the both came home and will meet up with lemon/pepper/butter on the grill, French fry's from the air fryer, with canned peaches on the side should do it.

got some leaf cleanup to do before I fire up the grill

still a lot of smoke in the air at sunrise.

Expecting a cool down, but so far no rain according to the guessers.

I best get at it or will be dark before I know it.

Good evening everyone

I am packed, loaded and planning on heading to the shack in the morning. I want to do some trail dragging before the storms roll in around 10pm Sunday. They are calling for 1 1/2" of rain Sunday night into Monday so I probably won't be able to sit until Monday afternoon.

Another day spent taking care of leaves. One more area and I will be caught up for now. The wind switched yesterday to the east making for cleaning up part of the front yard AGAIN as it blew the strip of leaves on the east side of the drive onto the front lawn.

Today my mother would have been 110. She was born on 10/10/10. She only made it to 81 due to her having so much trouble controlling her diabetes. I could not have had a better mother as she raised me as a single mother since 1948 when my folks got divorced.

The pick up at the airport was a fiasco. Just after the wife left to pick up her friend for a 6:15 pick up she got a call that the flight was delayed. She came back home to wait. Her friend kept getting take off times all over the clock. Her flight finally landed in GR at 12:20 am. It was 2 am before they got back here.

Planning on trying to fish tomorrow. I did not get to go down to the boat today to see if it would start or not. Time will tell if it is a go in the morning or if I have to bring the battery home and charge it as I have not started it in a while.

Marv That 8 point looks like it is a heavy weight. Do you have some sort of lure on that stump. You might want to look on google for licking branches as the 8 point was trying to leave his scent on the little stick. I am planning to hang some heaver grape vine over a couple of scrapes I am going to make on a couple of my food plots. My son hung a branch on a trail between two food plots. Both buck and does used it as a licking branch. The problem was it could not be seen from my blind.

town.

H2l..........Hopefully the infection will be gone soon so your wife can get on with the heart problem.

The roofer got the back completed and a lot of the front, he expects to finish by noon today.

Good day fellow 9:45ers cooler today with temperature in the low sixties and 10 to 15 mph wind. I've been hearing the siren at my local fire house go off at least one or more times daily for the past week wondering if some of the calls are for fires that got out of control when someone was burning leaves.
IFF congratulations on the walleyes. I hope they can get the wild/forest fires in your state under control before to much more land is burned.
Whopper Stopper don't know when you will see this but have a safe and good hunt. May the 8/9 point buck seen in your last game camera video present you with a chance to harvest him.
Tomturkey the wind can make all your hard work of clearing leaves from your property vanish quickly. Hope you can get out fishing today.Glad you have many good memories of your mother. Your wife's friend return flight experience sounds like mine on a few trips I made to see family in Wyoming.
Drifter going to feel strange whenever you do go back to your office after all that time. Once again have a good Thanksgiving tomorrow, I'm is there a traditional meal you Canadian's eat on your Thanksgiving Day. I'm sure you know here in the United States turkey is the traditional meat entree served on our Thanksgiving Day.
Ice Wanderer may your roofer have completed the new roof install and not run into any problems today.
Wallyworld may your property stay clear of leaves for a few days. I'm sure Mr.WW gets excited anytime time your game camera shows a nice buck has visited your apple tree/trees. Best to him this deer hunting season.

Good afternoon everyone!

2 lost posts already so I will make this short.

I decided to sit in my favorite ladder stand tonight hoping the deer move pre storm.

The wind is kicking up pretty good must be 25mph.

TT I did hang a grapevine close to the depression the deer stop at. This summer I put a couple hundred pounds of salt mineral in that hole. It's 40 yards from my stand.

Mr.clean I hope your good wishes send that buck my way. I have high Hope's after watching the videos.

Eddie if you are checking in best of luck to you and the boys

IW hope the roof is a done deal. Can't wait to see some pictures.

WW the Mr. Is more than welcome to sit in one of my stands. I will even give him my favorite if he brings a pie with

Well it's going to be gusting 40 mph for the next week starting tomorrow so I pulled the plug and headed home today.

It's 35* and clear here on my hill.

Dave.........It's been very windy here as well, good thinking on pulling the plug.

Steve........The roofer didn't show until 10:30 so the roof got the last screw in around 5pm. He did an excellent job and he even knocked
off a couple of hundred off the final price for the help that I did.

I'll post a couple of pictures at the end pf the post.
Eddie........I hope ypou were able to make it up to the river yesterday?

Wally.........Yesterda y was a nice day to get a ride in, did you stop for ice cream?

Marv......... I hope you got to see some action last night.

OS............How is you leg doing?

Tom..........I'm sure the memories of your mother brings happiness to you as the memories of my mother does for me.

I hope the strong

Bud. ...congratulations on the walleyes!

Had a fairly late evening with the family Saturday for me anyway, lol, got home around 10pm. That put a delay on my normal early leaving time to the river, it's 150 mile ride.
As expected, it was a mob scene up there, Columbus Day weekend being the peek of the season.
Went 3 for 11 on hookups. ..landed a 34" female, 38" male King, and a 25" Coho. Not a banner day, but it was enough to ensure at least one more trip up with the boys!

Storms rolled in around midnight, heavy rain high winds. It made for a crappy night. The sound of the rain hitting the metal roof lulled me back to sleep.

Last night was zip as in nothing but squirrels. The rain should be out of here by 10am then the winds will again crank up to 30-35mph.

Eddie, not a bad day on the river, some nice fish and great weather. Glad you had a good time.
I had a pretty fair night on the lanes, but my team mates were a little off, we lost 3 of 4 to the second place team. It was the first time we bowled the new team. It was a fun night.
Not a lot planned for today, get some things done around the house. 2 of the wife's cousin are coming for a visit on Sat. We didn't get to see them this summer because the reunion was cancelled.

Good morning ER's!! Happy Columbus Day to all!! Thanks for all the well wishes for my leg!! It may be too early to expect much change, but I haven't noticed a lot of improvement. I have a Dr's appointment this Thursday and that will be #1 on the list. It's overcast and 65 heading to 77 with a 90% chance of showers tonight! I hope all of those who are fishing and hunting the best of luck. I'm chomping at the bit to get to the range to do some shooting. I have a new pistol that needs breaking in as it's become #1 for home defense. The big problem is the lack of ammo right now! Everyone stay well, stay safe and STFAH!!!!

OS and I am glad it is.

Just chased some leaves off the deck, will wait till they are all off the trees/bushes then reclean the gutters.

Next up Holloween. but first a Grandson's B-day the 18th.

Planning on going up the hill, I hear the Casio's are still there. Haven't been in years, about two hours should do it, a bite to eat and head back down. Guess it snowed some up there last night.

No doubt Slayerfish is already planning a trip to one of the alpine lakes. I'll pass on that.

Going to take the big air compressor over to the kids and blow out their sprinkler system. The sprinkler company's are pretty booked up sounds like.

Good evening hope everyone had a pleasant day I started out with rain this morning then cloudy sky and 10 to 15 mph wind for most of the day.
Ice Wanderer the roof looks great nice you received a discount by helping with some of the work.
Eddie glad you were able to land some salmon to bad your sons could not make the trip.
Whopper Stopper may the winds settle so you can be more comfortable in your stand and hopefully the deer will also get up and moving by your stand.
Hunts2long may your team do better next Sunday so you do not drop to much in the standings. If you are still headed to NYC tomorrow have a safe trip and best to your wife with her surgery.
Wallyworld I'm surprised there is not a state ban on burning leaves with how dry it has been for most of the past month. Enjoy the ice cream while you can many of the stands will be closing before to long.
IFF I saw that the higher elevations of your state received some snow.
OldSailor may your doctor be happy with how your legs looks on Thursday.
Drifter it will take you some time to adjust to the sounds of being back in town.
