I'm coming home!

Some of you may have seen me crying on the General ice fishing chit chat site over the past 2-yrs about wanting to move back to the MN or WI area.  Well......my wife just accepted a job yesterday at a school in Rockford, MN.  We will be moving back this Aug for the new school year.  I am originally from Waseca.  We had been looking at WI hard as my wife is from there but the pay and taxes sucked! So we ruled that out and decided to go for MN.  Rockford popped up out of the blue for the position she needed and the pay was just right.  I must admit it wasn't my first choice for a town as it is soooooo close to Mpls but the idea is growing on me.  Can't wait to get my one man clam out of my in-laws basement in WI and get ready for my first real season in 15-yrs.

Skipper, I hope to make it to the get together but I for sure will be at the St Paul ice show.  Are you involved in the show?

Also, you forgot that the great Brett Favre came out of WI as well so that is one other good thing about that state I guess.  I see you are a viking fan.  I am a huge vikes fan and can talk vikes football anytime.

Iceshanty has done a booth at the ice show for the last two years, I manned it both times. I hope we do it again this year.

OK, HIMO can count as fruit of the cheesy motherland. Brent came from Mississippi, so he does not count. He was only passing through Green Bay on his way to play for the Queens.

Thank you.  It's nice to see the great welcome from the WI side of the line as well.  Really looking forward to the move.  Can't wait to get the boat in the water this summer and get ready for ice fishing this fall.

Sure did....the last two months have just been a blur.  Moved back the 2nd weekend in Aug and finally got time to take the boat out twice last week.  Hope to go out again tonight and enjoy this great fall weather.  Getting the ice gear out of storage as well....going through everything as it hasn't been used for many many years.  Can't wait for a nice day of ice fishing.
