I haven't seen anything recently but when I think of racks, mounts, etc. I think PVC...fairly cheap, durable and versatile. Imagination is wonderful thing.

That looks pretty sweet.  Looks like the vertical tubes can be popped off pretty easily by pulling a pin?  Minimalist approach. Nice work!

Added two uprights off the stock sport bumber on each end to hold the cross beam. I used Koplin Rhino Grips to hold the auger. I can still remove the hood with auger in place.

Closer view without auger, but with rod holders I added last year.

It has been working very well.

I knew you would answer this, Bart! That mount is awesome. So is the rest of the setup!

I'm in the same boat. All the auger mounts look way too extravagant for what I'm looking for. And theres no way I'm spending $100 on a rack. What is the benefit of having the auger propped up 1-2' in the front? I haven't rode a snowmobile since I was a kid, are people worried about the skis popping up and hitting the auger head? I'll just be hauling the kdrill and keeping the drill separate so I don't have to worry about that. I thought about just attaching rhino grips directly to my front bar.

last year I bought the digger mount. It was near 100 bucks but worth it. it performed the job great. It is versatile and I put it on both my atv and snowmobile. If your willing to spend that amount I highly recommend it.

This is more of an extravagant rack than it sounds like you want but here is an idea of what you can do.  I bought the sled with the rack already so I won't take credit for the idea but it has been awesome so far.  I had it powder coated last year to give a little more resilience to rust.

Bring your sled and auger to a local welding shop and ask what they make in your price range.
