Helix 5 Gen 1 using a Ice 45 transducer XI 9 19 I think.

Will a Helix 5 Gen 1 work with a Humminbird Ice 45 transducer? I am having a hard time trying to see bait dialing in Helix to work correctly. I don’t think transducer is helping me.

I'd check out the Hummingbird website or talk to some of their support people to make sure you have the right transducer for your unit. Wrong transducer would cause some problems for sure.

No will not work with the Helix 5. The transducer you need is xi-9-20.

Correct the 9-20 is the one you need.

it would work if you had a di unit with the same 455khz frequency as the ice 45

just loop your open water transducer cord and fish with that

How this happened was I took my Helix 7 from my boat and swapped out my Helix 5 Ice. My son was using my Ice 45 and he said he would like a Sonar like mine. So the Helix 5 was sitting in a box so with a couple bolts and part of a hockey stick I mounted Helix 5 on Ice 45 case. So now I either buy the XI 9 20 or go back to the flasher. What is the other transducer I see being used on units. X 9 1525 or something. Would my Helix 7 G2 work better with this one. Then take the 20 ducer yo put on 5. Sorry it’s confusing.

Your G2 uses the XI 9 21 ducer. Put the 9 20 on the Helix 5 and pickup the x21 ducer and everything will work fine.
