30 incher last year...well 29 and 3/4 but I call it a 30 lol. And this year was a 27. first fist of the season and now i'm spending every trip out trying to beat either of those. the 30 was just dumb luck. Caught on a deadstick rod sitting along with other deadsticks from the others in our group and happened to hit mine as I was walking over to it to slush out the hole.

LOL!! I'm reading your post and your signature at the same time and cracking up!!  26" waldo and " making up lies" :roflmao: :woot:--KP ;)
No B.S.  My best ice fishing is a 26" walleye!  I can't catch a master ice fishing!  I have caught 6 Masters in the summer and fall but nada in the winter.  It's not from a lack of trying!!!!!

Depends on what you'd consider best. I caught a 37" Burbot about 4 years ago in Nutimik Lake that put up one hell of a fight and I consider my best, I also caught a 22" Walleye at Petersfield last spring. Nothing to fancy but both nice fish.

On a serious note, I believe you!! that would be a fish to be proud of catching. It's just the way I looked at it and being a wise guy from time to time!! Nice catch and I didn't mean any harm!!! My personal best through the ice is walleye 23.5"! tightlines!--KP
No worries!!!   I thought you figured I was joking around!  It does look funny when you go by 5 X Master Angler and you haven't caught any of them ice fishing!  Especially when you have my signature of making up lies!!!

Best is in the eye of the beholder!  I've caught 6 Masters, 2 of them 37" cats, 2 of them 28.5" walleyes,  1 of them a 20" Rainbow trout and 1 was a 14" Bullhead.  I consider the Rainbow my best because the thing flew out of the water heading straight for me and I still managed to catch him on barbless hooks!!!

I caught a 39" northern pike this last weekend, on my Thorne bros. walleye sweetheart rod, spooled with 6lb braid. But nothing like the 29" lake trout I caught 3 winters ago for fight.
