I hope to check them out this weekend. I've noticed the lakes around Frederick have really locked up over the past couple of nights. Next week looks like continued cold so it won't be long.

I am hoping to get out before new years day - weather is holding up nicely :) --- fingers crossed. Never know, I may just be able to go this weekend.
It's time to go and I can't turn the ignition!

Hey Gents, thanks a lot.  First time I got to fish these lakes last year was the latter part of January.  Looks like it may be a lot earlier this year.  I'm ready!!!---sc

I talked with the ranger at Greenbriar on Dec19 and she said there was still open water out towards the middle and down to the left of the dam.  Today, I talked with the ranger at Indian Springs and he said that he thought the ice at Blair's Valley was thick enough to ice fish (based on the temps and crunching sounds that thick ice makes) but that they had not yet seen any anglers   He did say that he saw some ice skaters.  Of course, they don't usually have ice augers.  I just may swing by there next week ;D.  If I do, I'll post a report.

Thanks SC-   Warm weather on the way for a few days may delay the water walking at GREENBRIAR.  Keep us posted how you do!

I'm always interested but I'm going to have a hard time getting away on Sat.  It should be a great day though.  Good luck.-------------sc
