We get them on small shiners or smelts... Try a worm and power bait all on one hook... they flip for it.  Some days the hit and others you can't buy one... their pretty touch and go. I'll be sure to try some then thanks for the tip.

I caught these two, this morning - both on salmon eggs. one jigging and one on a trap.

Very nice fish... the bottom one kinda looks like a big brookie or splake... because of the spots. could be wrong

I fish half-nightcrawlers mostly, on size 8 hooks. Because worms don't have as much natural action as a smelt or shiner, i always jig them very gently, sometimes i'll add a piece of fluorescent power bait too. works for me.

I was using the dillies last weekend... they work well for perch.. too well not on the hook long enought for a trout to come by.

Try using a red bead just above the hook, then a worm. I have ad good luck with that in the past.

No, you're absolutely correct. the bottom fish is a brook trout. I should have said I caught these two "fish" , this morning.

Ya i use worms with an orange powerbait ball on top of the hook.  But shiners are just as good if there lively.

They don't seem to like the big ones though.  I use a size 6 hook and a small shiner for brookies... Whats everyone else using?
