After hemming and hawing at last minute went back to south shore.  Like Scout I also dropped 2 eyes (1 slob) at hole ARGH .  Did bring 20 keepers home after fishing till noon.  They would come in waves..needed to be patient.   North shore will be my next adventure...soon.  Fishing this lake is addicting.

I’m coming from the east on I-90 and want to know if it’s quicker to get off in Verona and head towards South Bay on route 31 or get off near canastota and head north on route 13 to South Bay. Any advice helps as I’ve never been to Oneida.
6 of one, half dozen of the other. I think Verona is quicker..

Great pic of the eye Chowdaire... how do you like the "Dinner Bell" jigs? Looks like he really slammed it.

The Dinner Bell had a great first showing as I think all new lures do. I think the fishing gods are just up there trying to make us empty our wallets so everything new works the first time out. Then when you buy 10 the fish decide they don't like 'em anymore.

This morning I didn't get anything on it but it's probably got less than an hour of use so far. Time will tell if it becomes a regular in the rotation or just one that comes out in desperation.

Thanks for the honest review. I think I will give them a try. Sometimes active fish will make whatever you're using perform well.

Didn’t you know fishing lures are not to catch fish. They are to catch fisherman. Lol I hope it continues to work

Travel was great today on the sled. The eye bite was fast and furious. Didn’t matter if you had a minnow head on the rap or just bare lure. First 2 trips of the season have been a blast!

Fished the north west shore yesterday.  Everything froze up real nice.  Measured 7 - 8 inches of good ice where ever I went.  Good to go with all machines.  Use caution and pay attention of course as normal.  Perch were a little slow but the size was good. Ice should be good for the next week or so anyway.

Wow, great job Bobby DeadEyez !

Did  pretty good on the perch out deep yesterday...some waves came through, but no eyes. Packed light(no heater) and paid the price...sun did feel good mid day, and met some good guy's out there.
Had to take a break today.... maybe should have taken a break yesterday and fished today!!
My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

Just thought I would mention that I happened to call and look at a nice camp for sale by owners, on the N. shore Taft Bay area yesterday too.Right on the water and they have a covered boat lift and smaller dock going with the sale . Nice couple from Conn. selling it after 17 years there. They don't use it so much anymore.... Kids have grown up and they don't like to fish or boat!
I am not really  looking for a house or camp  on the lake, just a lot or small piece of land. The driveway is plowed and I have the address and phone number if anyone is interested in any details.
