saltwater ice fishing
« on: Nov 22, 2007, 02:36 AM »
anyone on here fish the saltwater through the ice? think i seen a show where they were catching rockfish through the ice maybe in norway? is this a common practice above the arctic circle? when i used to work at sagaya ( a specialty grocery store here in anchorage alaska ) the golden king crab we sold in the winters i was told that the crab pots were set by drilling holes in the ice up near nome. sheefish are caught through the ice near kotzebue. i imagine if anyone here participated in that fishery that would be a real good atvantage for team alaska during the ice shanty tourney.
summers over i finally get to do some fishin!
