Renew Allure lure stain
« on: Feb 11, 2019, 03:53 PM »
Does anyone else remember Renew Allure that Fleet Farm carried in their lure components isle?  These were little glass bottles of various stains for lures and they sold them in a set of 4-5, as well as singles.  The red worked really well for staining nickel finish hooks and would hold up extremely well.  My local store recently had a couple bottles of the purple up until last year.

I have not been able to find anyone online who carries them.  The problem with searching 'Renew Allure' is all the hits for the 'Allure' makeup line.

Does anyone know if a stain exists for plastic/metal that comes in various colors and is waterproof?  Luckily I have plenty of stain left in all colors, accept red.

Yep! I got a few bottles way back. Can't say if I've seen it lately because I haven't looked.

However... Spike It makes a "blade dip" that is  very similar. See here: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Spike_It_Blade_Dip/descpage-SBD.html?from=Google&gclid=Cj0KCQiA14TjBRD_ARIsAOCmO9Y6LrxkDHLjJ9gbzwut6mINHHEh8XYa6lMv7lYmOmQVMzE-I8gmuh4aAsi-EALw_wcB
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Thanks, I think that might work, even though it's a lacquer.
