Z71 Gas Cap Question

So I hadn't noticed before...the rubber insert inside the gas cap, it fell out when I unscrewed it...it doesn't show up in the diagram, can anyone tell me which way it goes...I would think the nipple side goes towards the gas tank?  Thanks...I'm sure this is a quick answer for those that have one already!

Think your right on that. Nipple side down into the tank.
