It's official, on the ice Nov. 13th (with pics)

We were working at Lake Malony today and I just had to go out and stand on it.  Most of it was gone a few hours later, but it was ice

mother nature keeps teasing us with lows in the teens and 20's, but then slaps us in the face with mid 50's during daylight hours    might have to make a trip out west!

There was plenty of ice in MA last year -- if you knew where to look.  But it was definitely a poor year for ice.
 
Looking forward to meeting some of you fine Nebraska folks on the ice this year -- planning to make the trip over from CO to a state that will actually allow me to use 5 tip ups again!   

Won't be long now!  Bring on the ice!

How thick was it?

How thick was it?

Not very, it was sagging and creaking pretty good.  I'd guess less than 1 1/2 inches. 

I don't know if you can tell from the pics, but the water was only a few inches deep.  Just thought I'd mention that so folks didn't think I made a practice of going out on ice that thin.
