back in the seventies, on cayuta lake in n.y., there was a truck through the ice, up to the windows, just like that one.
i went back a week later and it was still there.
a month after that, it was still there.

any old timers remember seeing it?
grandpa told me-"never wrestle with a pig. you both get muddy and the pig likes it".

Try and explain that one to your boss .... Salesman to boss: Gee thought I would drive out on the ice and show the fisherman the truck and maybe sell it to someone .... Boss to salesman : you did sell it ,  heres your payment book !

why is the title called use your head? appears to me to be bad luck. There are 20 more trucks in the background, pretty close. It is a risk anybody takes when driving on the ice. I myself am too scared to drive my Jeep on the ice.

In pic #2 are those bags of ice floating in the water in the bed???  If they are, the irony is sickening

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

Other trucks were getting stuck when they would hit soft spots and sink in. Ice was thick enough, your auger motor would almost touch before going through. This area had a small heave and hadnt froze very good for some reason.

if you see any open water on the lake take the time to respool and get all the open water gear ready  Just like we do when we start to see ice forming in the winter

I seen a truck go through on Cavanaugh Lake in Chelsea, Michigan. There was only ten inches of ice to begin with. It was good ice but in the 40's that day with snow on top. Snow started melting and turned to slush and water. There was a full size Chevy and a Ford 350 crew cab parked side by side with a pool of water around them. I was on the lake but parked far away by myself. Me and a buddy were going on a beer run and passed the trucks getting off the lake. I looked at the two trucks and they were leaning in towards each other like this : \ / (obviously not THAT bad, but) I said to my buddy "Look, those trucks are going to fall through!" Upon returning to the lake, the Chevy pulled his truck away and the Ford looked like the first picture above! I guess the guy in the Chevy tried to move the Ford but the guys keys weren't in the ignition and the guy was no where to be found! It ended up being a kid with his dad's new truck! Can you say,

GROUNDED!!! :%$#!: :%$#!: :%$#!:

I bought a chevy once.  That's why I drive a Ford now.  It'll turn 170,000 this weekend, and still going strong.
