Title: Adding a Recon 5 to an Lx7
Post by: Peccavi18 on Jul 29, 2019, 08:42 PM: I got a steal on an Lx7 and want to be able to add video capabilities to it, once I find a decent spot and setup for a few. I like the size and portability of the Recon 5, don't want to add the stuff to turn the 7 into a 9.
Just trying to pre-plan how I can set it up to easily attach or detach the Recon 5 to the standard Marcum base. I am ditching the SLA battery and powering the base with Milwaukee batteries and the powersource. May or may not use the stock bag I'll see once I have it on the ice. Any pics or ideas.

Post by: hardwater diehard on Jul 30, 2019, 10:01 AM: If it has a 1/4x20 threaded hole ..then I would suggest a GoPro style snake mount … you can add the Jaws mount or get some add on which can quick connect to the flex mount and has adhesive backing to add to your LX7 case ..the Jaws mount can also attach to a flip overs hoop pool at eye level . The mount is also good for searching holes ..makes it easier to hold/control the camera .

That's almost perfect, just have to figure out a quick disconnect from the bottom of the Recon so I can take it off to put it in my pocket.

Main three parts from amazon. 6inch microphone gooseneck + one 5/8" male to 1/4-20 female Microphone Mount Adapter + one 5/8"-27 Female to 1/4"-20 Male for Camera Monitor. The rest is simple aluminum flat bar and a 1/4 bolt nylon locking nuts. One thing I need to get is a wing nut to disconnect the gooseneck if need be.
