Fun day
« on: Feb 08, 2018, 02:50 PM »
Had a fun day out on chauncy today. 5 bass and more pickerel than I could count. Went through about 28 shiners. Constant flags from about 8:30-1:00.  Barry didn't have any large shiners due to a late delivery but the mediums did just fine!

Nice job out there. How was the ice? I fished during the storm Wednesday and my pond went to 5” of Black in Northbridge. I don’t fish Chauncey but it’s always helpful to get some idea of different ice conditions in different areas after weather we’ve had.

I'd say there was about 5 inched of solid black ice and another 5 of softer ice on top.  Shoreline is starting to deteriorate in some areas but still plenty of places to get on.

Thanks. Heading out tomorrow in the rain, bringing the canopy and the charcoal grill up towards NH border. Appreciate the report

Everytime I've been out there this season, which has been about 8 times, I've had tons of action. Looking like this may be the last weekend though looking at the forecast.

That may be a lake that is way better off without lots of pike.   When the pike were in there in ok numbers , the other warm water fishing was poor unless you got a lucky day.   Seems so much better now.   Glad to see and congrats to everyone that is doing so well there
