MICHIGAN OLIVE BURGER

Its not fish, but I do like red meat too and thought someone else may like to try them.

The traditional olive burger has been around for many decades. My grandmother was enjoying olive burgers more than 75 years ago. She prepared them for my Mother and my Mother prepared them for my siblings and I. Below is how we made them.

Ingredients:
1- 6 to 10 ounce jar of sliced green olives (I used to slice my own, I don’t anymore)
1/2 cup of mayonnaise (or if you prefer, use Miracle Whip)
4 burgers prepared to your liking
4 Slices of provolone cheese
4 burger buns (we like Kaiser Style)

Preparation:
1-Open and drain liquid off the green olives.
2-Mix the mayonnaise and green olives together in a bowl
3-Scoop 1/4 of the green olive mixture on each burger and top with a slice of provolone cheese
4-Melt the cheese under a broiler
5-Serve and enjoy!

Michigan does have some joints that serve great Olive burgers...I'm going to have to try your recipe..I usually add the Olive Mayo mix after the burgers are pulled off the grill so this will be something new for me.....Try doiing the burgers in Cast Iron..It does make a huge difference in taste..
