The King Crab fleet in the Bering Sea is running for cover. This could be one of the worst storms to ever hit the Aleutian Islands. Low pressure as far down as 914 millibars. Hurricane Sandy that hit the east coast was 940.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota residents purchasing natural gas from the state's largest utility can expect slightly lower rates this winter compared to last.
   
Customers of CenterPoint Energy will also receive small refunds on natural gas bills in December. The Star Tribune reports the happy forecast from utilities, weather forecasters and the federal government rests largely on the expectation that record cold won't repeat. Brian Milne, energy editor for Schneider Electric, says experts aren't anticipating any polar vortex's in the Upper Midwest this year.
   
Milne says prices could still be above average due to cold snaps, but they probably won't be as steep as last year.
   
A recent forecast from the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Midwest customers will use 13 percent less natural gas this year, causing bills to be 8 percent lower.

The forecast still looks typical here in central MN. Around 30 for a high the rest of the month. I guess this is as average as it gets, if there is any such thing in Minnesota.

That is great news!!! They are calling for 3-6" of snow here Sunday and Monday. And it looks like it will be below freezing from here on out. Can't wait!
