Good Morning Everyone,
Breezy 66* this am, temps are supposed to drop most of the morning with rain showers expected today.

Shortly after we started getting ready for our concrete pour yesterday, motorcycles began arriving and setting up in formation across the street from us at the NYS Museum for the annual 9/11 Memorial Ride. The 150 mile ride down to the 9/11 Memorial is lead by our Governor Andrew Cuomo, who rides a Harley himself.
As we watched the motorcyclists gather, and gave them the thumbs up for what they were to embark on, we realized we were missing out on something, and something was missing....our flag.
So a buddy of mine and myself went down to our shop and removed our flag which hangs proudly above the entrance door. We didn’t have flag pole, so we affixed it to a length of 2” X 2” brought it back to our site and strapped it to a No Parking Sign right where we were working.
As it was going up, a light breeze was blowing and it fluttered so beautifully. Our whole crews mood changed instantly, and the motorcyclists who watched this take place gave us the thumbs up. It was a minimal task with such a great impact.....we’ll Never Forget!
  Cawfee’s on....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning everyone

The rain just keeps on coming. By the time things wind down we should be right around 5+ inches of rain. Flash flood warnings are going on all over, always something :cookoo:

Eddie you have a damn fine bunch to work with   Hope you and the crew have an excellent day Sir!

Not a lot to do today with the weather being what it is. Next week is supposed to be a complete turn around with sun and 80 for a few days. I am going to enjoy the down time and just get ready to start pounding next week.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

Eddie, good job with the flag.
TELCO still hasn't got our circuit working yet. Everything is plugged into daughters. They don't do things like they use to. No one even showed up yesterday.

Good evening/early morning for those in the eastern time zone looked like it would rain all day but never saw any drops falling from the sky. Little excitement here on Wednesday night hear fire siren going off around 6:30 PM short time later see two fire trucks pull into my complex and head to rear buildings about twenty minutes later trucks headed back to fire house assuming someone might have started a small kitchen fire have to talk with neighbors and find out what they know about the fire call. Being sixty miles north of NYC the events of 9?11?2001 hit my area hard as many people commute to the city each day for work. Neighboring town had four residents who were fire fighter killed that day.
Eddie quick thinking a nice gesture by your coworkers and you moving and flying the flag for riders to see before departing to NYC.
Whopper Stopper hope all your recent rain does not head my way. Thank you for posting Eddie's photos.
Wallyworld have a good trip nice to hear Mr.WW's Mom and Uncle are still fishing.
Hunts2long may you get the computer/telephone problems fixed soon don't realize how much we depend on and use certian things until we are without them for a few days.
Icefisher-45 happy to read you have the drier back in service and any other electrical problems are now fixed.
IFF how much snow did the high country receive over night.
Tom Turkey hope today's trail of new shower found no problems.

Have a safe and good Friday folks. Best to all fishing.

Good morning Eddie! Good morning everyone

The rain has finally ended with some getting close to 10" :cookoo: Today we will get close to 65 degrees and the wind will replace the water with 30mph gusts.

Eddie no problem on the pictures, glad I could help

I am off to the shack in a couple of minutes. I am renting a trash pump and putting it to work, that's all I better say about that. I also have 3 smaller projects to work on including a down tree that I need to get off one of the trails. When I get back I am going to scope out one of my tree jobs and see how wet things are. The yard is on sand and loam so it may be doable to start on tomorrow.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe

A cool 43 degrees this morning. Will be wearing sweat shirt for sure. Not in a hurry to get out on the lake, looks like a good mist coming off the water.
Mr. C, same here yesterday, looked like rain most of the day. Got a few drops early and that was all.
WW, good luck on the water.

Another WET start to the day.

Just before supper on Wednesday we got hit by the worst rain and wind storm I have seen in years. Just when I needed to be able to get on NOOA radar the power and cable went out. There was another strong storm coming on the lake shore at the other place. The storms continued until after midnight. At least the wind died at least. The power came back on around 11pm. Cable finally came on around 5 pm yesterday. The neighbor that never lost power still has not gotten her cable back on. At least we did as much damage from the first storm as they did south of us from a following storm.

Eddie Those are great pictures. Putting the flag up for the bike riders was surely appreciated by them. Just looking at the chute coming from the truck gives me a back ache. A good truck driver that knows how to spread the cement can a take a lot of the work out of a pour.

The new shower tested out fine yesterday. What a relief it was. I managed to get the old shower mostly torn out yesterday. I still have to figure out where the shut off is for the water. I had to cut around the valve to get the surround off. Now to figure out how I am going to fill the space as it is odd sized.

Modifying so I do not lose what I typed as I see there are a couple of posts made while I was typing.

WS The drop of visitors to your yard might be caused by the dropping of mast from trees. Plus didn't you have to quit feeding them. That was a lot of rain. We only got 2 of inches out of those storms on Wednesday. Hopefully there is nothing flooded at the shack.

H2L  I would rather have to put on a sweat shirt than having sweat running into my eyes off of my bald head.

There was a promo on Fox for a new show at 10 am daily. The gal doing the talk show is from a town south of my property. She mentions liking to watch the storms coming in off of Lake Michigan.

Good Morning Everyone, We had rain yesterday morning. It stopped around mid morning.

Tom Turkey, That Good you got your power and cable back and there was no serious damage. Putting in the new shower has been quite the under taking.

Hunts2long, Sweat shirt weather here as well.

Whopper Stopper, That’s good news that the rain has stopped. That is a lot of rain. Hoping to see Arrow before the trail cam is moved.

Mason Eddie, Are you guys working on another big job? Hopefully you don’t have to work at the mansion anytime soon.

Mr Clean, Hopefully no one was hurt in the fire.

I hope everyone has a good day and a safe one. God Bless

Weather has really messed with a Walleye Tournament on Devils Lake, with high winds and waves.  Not to mention 20 hours of rain.

Good Morning Everyone,
Cloudy 54* with some wind this am, high of 70 today with rain expected. The Harvest Moon is visible but not brilliant this morning with all the cloud cover.

I-45...thanks for sharing the pictures, hope you had a nice time with your wife!   Have the headaches and other pains let up some now?  Funny you mentioned the Mansion...we started a small retaining wall there yesterday at the herb garden...Doh!   ;D
Bud...have you been chasing after any of those Cherry Creek walleyes lately?
Tom...glad the shower project is moving along well for you, hope the shut off valve doesn’t commit a problem.     You’re absolutely right about the concrete drivers...most of them delivering to us are very good, but occasionally we get one who knows better than us, lol.
H2... hope the bite was on fire yesterday, will be looking forward to your report!
Marv...wow, 10” of rain that’s crazy!! Hope everything went well at the shack for you. Good luck with the tree job today if you can get to it.
Wally...will be looking forward to your report on the Family trip! Crossing fingers you all had a chance to tangle with some of those big Erie walleyes!
Jeff... hope the weather hasn’t been too bad in Maine so far and you’re having a great vacation!

A friend of my son’s has been doing very well on the salmon this past week up on the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY..
Unfortunately, with their new work schedule on a highway project now, it conflicts with mine as they work weekends and have Monday/Tuesday off making it difficult to plan a trip together. Thinking a long weekend or two on my end will take care of that problem soon...Dr. Coho appointment’s!  Probably a good day to re-spool some reels today!   ;D
You can tell Fall is in the air with the amount of members making their way back here to the Shanty again, Welcome Back Everyone!
  Cawfee’s brewing....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning Eddie! Good morning everyone

The rain has ended and my slab out front is dry

Eddie hope you can wrangle a couple of days off to visit the Dr. That would sound like blast

45 Thanks for the pictures. Hope you are feeling a little better every day

WW like Eddie looking forward to some pictures and stories. I hope the weather is keeping in check

Yesterdays shack run went well. We accomplished just about everything on my list. If the weather holds we will be heading back up there next weekend. Today the girls are heading into Wisconsin fishing. I am going to start a tree job that will probably take me 2+ days this round. Next week is supposed to be in the 80's with high dew points so I would like to take advantage of the cooler weather.

Yesterday my wife had another eye appointment with the specialist. Her eye pressure was at 18 right where it should be. The problem is she can't stay on the steroid they had prescribed but the Dr said he is almost positive they will be able to dial it in without surgery. He tweaked the medicine a little she has her next appointment in another month. She was pretty excited.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

Good Morning. 54* and cloudy. Rain in the forecast.

Ice-45, I think squirrels will eat just about anything, Nice to see that you are getting out and about.

Eddie, Monday and Tuesday would have been good days to get after those salmon. No crowds of fishermen.

Caught 11 walleyes and 2 bass yesterday. Still lots of undersize walleyes. They were hitting pretty good until the wind switched to the East then to the SE. Ride home was rough. I did have an eagle circle the boat a couple times yesterday. I think there may have been fish, maybe trout, near the surface, it is cooling off. Lots of fishing boats out.
The wife and Lindsay are going to Albany today. Lindsay has to return something. I sometimes think they get something, just to be able to return it. By the time I have bought somethings, I have re-searched it so long, the price has gone up.

Not much planned for today. Have a good day...h2l

Good Morning Everyone, Looks like it’s going to be a rainy day today. It was good to get out yesterday. Headaches are still bad. Supposed to be going to a pain management clinic for them in a couple of weeks.

Hunts2long, Sounds like it was a good day on the water. That must have been a incredible site seeing a Eagle circling the boat. I’m the same way I research everything to death. Drives my wife crazy.

Whopper Stopper, That’s great news about your wife. Hopefully they won’t need to do surgery. Hopefully next week you’ll be able to get your tree work done and next weekend you’ll be able to get up to the shack.

Mason Eddie, Hope you’ll be able to go fishing with your son and his friends.

Hope everyone has a great and safe day. Tight lines to those on the water. God Bless.

Good afternoon everyone

I grabbed the cards and went through them. The problem with no bait is the critters don't hang around very long. The doe and fawns seem to be in no real big hurry when they show up so I will post a couple videos of them. By the way Arrow was outside the door a few minutes ago, still looking good.

Good Evening Everyone, Rained this afternoon. The morning was cloudy. Went with my wife to run some errands. We stopped at a state park to walk Mr Dickens. Walking farther now. My wife is getting me out more when she’s home. She helped the downstairs neighbor this evening with some things around her apartment. There is a little boy about 11 next door who hangs out with my wife and Mr Dickens when she takes him out.

Whopper Stopper, Thank you for sharing those videos. I wish I had inherited my parents house. There was always deer around and turkeys. That’s good Arrow Turkey is doing well.

I hope everyone had a good day and has a good Evening. God Bless

Good Morning Everyone,
57* to start the day here, high of 74 today with some sunshine. Beautiful bright moon shining in between passing clouds.

I-45...that’s great new about your walking distance increasing! Continued success with that and  to your wife keeping you motivated!!
Marv...it’s been great watching all the little ones grow up on the videos here this season, fantastic job! Glad to read “Arrow “ is still hanging around, she became my favorite! Great news on your wife’s eye pressure returning back to normal, best wishes sent no surgery will be needed!!       How did the tree job go?
H2...sounds like you’ve got those walleyes dialed right in! Congratulations on the fishing and another double digit day, awesome!

Started pulling some of the plants out of the garden yesterday that were pretty much done. Going to try and cover one raised bed of peppers later today with heavy clear plastic to see if I can extend the growing season with a make shift greenhouse. Don’t know if it will work, but I’m optimistic, lol, and I’ve got the materials.
Not certain if my sons are planning a trip for the salmon tomorrow or next week, but plan on joining them whenever they decide. Work will always be there and I haven’t played hooky in quite sometime!   ;D
  Cawfee’s on!

54* and sunny. The girls spent most of the day in Albany. My wife said she is about shopped out for awhile. I think she goes just to see Lindsay and go out to lunch.

Morning all,

WS.....great news on MrsWS's eyes   hope the tree job is going well  ;)

H2L....glad to hear the fishing is picking up as the weather changes

Eddie.....heard there's a lot of fish coming up the river the past couple days, go get 'em  ;)2 :flex:

IF45.....good to hear you're getting out and about more

IW.....safe travels home, hope the vacation was a good one  :)

The fishing charter was a blast   Boated 34 walleye, 1 laker and too many silver bass to count  ;D  Lots of friendly competition and laughs to be had  :woot:  it was pretty choppy but we lasted almost 7 hours before things got too crazy and we had to call it a day  :flex: Didn't get many pics as we were pretty busy catching fish, setting rods and trying to stay on our feet  :woot:

Have a good day whatever's on tap. Stay safe.
