Valentine National Wildlife Refuge general ice report - 06 January 2023
These are measurements of ice taken at public access sites to refuge fishing lakes, 50-100 yards out onto the lake.
Ice measurements taken this morning by refuge staff. Refuge roads have not been plowed and are snow covered- 4 wheel drive is highly recommended (and a shovel & bucket of kitty litter). Vehicles have traveled across the refuge on the Little Hay Wildlife Drive. All of the refuge fishing lakes have snow on top of the ice.

Watts Lake - 11"
Dewey Lake - 11.5"
Clear Lake - Could not be reached
Duck Lake- Could not be reached
West Long- Access and ice not checked
