does anyone know a good time of year to fish burbot? is earlier better?

One of the very best times is usually mid february when they spawn . Easy to catch them even in broad daylight if you time it right .

 Definitely in February...thats when we start to fish them hard, before that seems to be a waste of allowable lines during the day.
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

February&march are the best times but if you fish them in the dark it is goood to. :o :thumbsup:

What they said.  However, a lot of the pout in the great lakes spawn in rivers and they are already starting to stage in them.
