OT- open water walleye Ontario
« on: Mar 22, 2019, 08:42 AM »
Just a heads up to those who have never done a Ontario fly in.
There are numerous outfitters that charge $900-1100 per week CA for
a walleye/pike fly in. US exchange today is 1 dollar US for  1.34 Canadian.
Exchange rate results in trips for under $800 US (tax included)

Outfitter provides flight, boat, motor, (unguided)but will assist w/maps,
rustic cabin, propane shower, fridge etc. Google
Nakina Ont outfitters and recommend the bigger bodies of water.

Have always wanted to do that. Years ago we used to drive in and camp in LeVerndrye Park, Quebec.  When my dad was in is late 70's I took him to Lac Bertholet in northern Quebec, and Lac Shannon. Fishing was just OK; not great but enough walleyes to bring home a few meals. Would like to get back up there.
Ice fishing is a social activity that may occasionally be interrupted by the catching of fish.

Yep first trips were in the early teens with dad an uncles. Fishing is still amazing in "fly in" Canada.
Email me if i can assist you putting together a trip. Disclosure am not involved/promoting/guiding etc any outfitter
just trying to spread the wealth of fishing "how too".

My adult kids an I are planning next trip - unguided Alaskan float (trout/salmon (5)) for 2020.
