Title: Remembering last year, anxious for this year
Post by: icenewby on Nov 09, 2008, 11:44 PM
Just got into hard water fishing a couple years ago on a fluke.  But ...  I really like eating the cold water fillets!

Thought I would share a couple photos from last year at Cascade.   The perch fishing was slow, but we caught a few.

HMmmmmm - I must be dumb, can't figure out how to attach the photos.  Under "Help" it says to use "Attachment".  Can't find it on this screen.  Any help?

Thanks

Last year was slow on Cascade. I had a great time there 2 years ago also. Do you live up in that area? What area of the lake did you fish?

Last year was real slow on Cascade. I did good at Horsethief. Got some real nice bow's out of there.
Hope cascade's better this year. I don't want to drive. Just like to get up and go.
Pray for ice.

Idahoiceman,  I live north of Middleton - West of Boise.  I fished the south end of the lake directly west from the toilets where they clean a parking area.  Some people did better on down around the little arm at the camping area.

Plumrob,  sounds like you live up there.  Would you be willing to keep us up to date on the ice?

How much water were you in? Two years ago 28' was the magic depth for me, however last year with all the snow on top it seems like they were in shallow. I live in Nampa. Have you ever ice fished on Lake Lowell our CJ Strike? I got about a 3lbs catfish through the ice on lake Lowell last year.

Idahoiceman,

I don't remember for sure, but it seemed we were in 10 to 15 ft of water on Cascade.

I have not ice fished CJ or Lake Lowell.   There was a man on the south shore catching some nice sized cats this summer.  He was using trout minnows (dead of course).  I was not sure CJ ice would be very stable.  Internet reports were good from Magic last winter, however, friends of mine had much less glowing ones.
