Anybody been out on Olney? Living down in South County has made it tough for me to check safe ice and I've got some free time coming up and I've been dying to get out. Appreciate the info everyone!

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I moved South. The family and I are up from Virginia for a couple days. If I were to hit Olney on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, do you think there will be edges? or should I plan on shooting for Central MA?! Ballbag I'm looking at you!

That rain really made a mess. I’ll take a ride over today and look. More white stuff on the way then should freeze up a bit over weekend....temps next week looking warm  :%$#!:

Thanks, Ballbag. I'm trying to get out either late afternoon Friday or else Saturday morning. I appreciate any intel, as hardwater fishing is definitely not a thing in Hampton Roads Virginia, ha.

Checked Barney’s about an hour ago...squishy layer on top from rain but the snow got smoothed out. Didn’t drill holes. Did a drive by in Lincoln woods same deal and I didn’t see anyone out. North cove will be ok I reckon. Good luck and stay safe!

Just got back from old stinkin Lincoln. Grabbed a nice larry, calico, and a slime dart in about an hour or so! Not a soul out there and the ice was great.

Good job Dad, I bet he's hooked for life. What is it about crappies through the ice? Aren't they the most fun to jig up? Like they were made for ice fishing.

Thank you and agree. I like those jumbo crappie but anything will do for the little guy. Pickerel and a crappie off the bucket list for him now. Small steps
