Is there ice on the ponds or is it open water season? Haven't been in the area for the past week but will be back this weekend. If there is ice how thick is it and what ponds/lakes are open?

Few places I've seen don't look good at all, little to no ice.

Take a ride to some of the northern ponds and you will be surprised.

Stripers thru the ice are done on the Housy, time to get the boat ready and take a different approach.

Checked a local lake in sw yesterday and was surprised how well it did. Was frozen almost to the edge still in the best spot to get on. With a board I could definitely have gotten on. The rock test passed with flying colors. Sounded very solid. Might try and make it out in the morning.

That being said, most of the other ponds I have past are open.

Thanks guys. Any of you check the lakes on the Housy and see the ice situation there?
