just got a pair os socks called the ice sock made by wigwam. has anyone ever used this brand and what are they like if they have?

I hate all socks with tight elastic tops. That includes wigwam.

There have been a few threads about Wigwam socks. They were the ticket from what I remember. I have had a couple of pair and for the money they served my needs just fine.

Whopper stopper is correct if you use the search feature should find a thread or two on Wigwam socks. Personally depending on temperature I use Wigwam's 40 below socks with a coolmax liner sock also from Wigwam.

I prefer Smartwool hiking socks over a lighter/thinner pair of dress type socks (not cotton).

cotton -cold, or cotton kills. wool is worm even when wet. just ask the sheep.
