What I usually wear is a pair of wool mittens that fold back so my finger tips are exposed. I throw a heat pack in the mitten part to keep my hands warm until I need to fold them back to expose my fingers. I have some Ice Armor X gloves for when I'm riding my quad.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I always go with the mittens.  I think I have poor circulation so my hands get pretty cold sometimes.  My hands always stay warmer with the mittens.  I also like the hand warmers as well on those really cold days.

fold back mittens are the best, but I find the fleece ones last longer and if you buy the ones for hunting even the thumb folds back

I run a variety of gloves. The three major players are Ice Armor glove, Ice Armor mittens, and Filson rag wool fingerless gloves. They also see ice time, usually on the same day.

It looks like I am the minority that does not like the fold back style of gloves.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just hanging out with buddies running tip-ups I'll use chopper mits, and when I get a flag I throw 'em off to retrieve the fish. Otherwise I use the fold back kind.

I perfer gloves over mits, I dont wear either for the most part, just for coming on and off the ice, and set up and tare down. While fishing it is bare hands for me, and I use a gerbings hand warmer that I won here a few years back

Bought a pair of Glomitts (Hot Headz) this weekend. Only 14 bucks, couldn't resist. I'm sick of pulling gloves on and off when dealing with fish. Damp hands and glove liners = grrrrrrrr. I hate that...

Let's see how they do versus a 30 dollar pair of Ice Armor or Sno Suit gloves.

I prefer not wearing gloves, but when I have to its usually the thin cheap-o fabric gloves from Walmart or a the like. I do have a pair of the flip back glove/mittens for hunting. Never thought about taking them ice fishing but I will this year. They are very warm so thats a great idea guys. Best of both.

They look good - do you think the palms will get wet or are they some type of waterproof material?  Also how do the sizes run?
