Sweet! Looks good
-
nice looking so far
-
It will definitely be comfortable during Elk Season!
-
Nice setup. Silly question - Does the heater vent put you "over-size"?
-
very nice i should do something with my enclosed,i would worry about someone locking me in as a practical joke with the door latch on the outside
-
thats a good question actually I just measured it and im about 3" over, it would suck to be locked in those windows are tiny to have to small to get through I think
-
So are you going to have to take the vent off every time you pull the trailer.
-
thats not going to happen ill shorten it up if i am forced to its has a few hwy miles on it with no issues yet its wide but managable
-
I have been hearing of rattle reels, but what are they exactly.

First of all welcome to IS
Rattle reels are wooden or plastic reels that have bells inside of the. They are usually attached perminately to the shack with a swing arm to be positioned over a hole. When a fish takes the bait, the bells in the reel go off letting you know you have a fish. Below is a link that will give you a better picture.

Just put the lock back on when it's open !!

Are the rattle reels good enough for lake trout and whitefish?
Do you spool them and reel them like a fly reel?
This is the first time I have ever heard/seen them.
-
You can use them that way. I use them like a tip up which I just pull the line up out of the water. If the fish needs more line then I just let it slip through my fingers. I not accustom to lake trout and white fish but I catch good sized Pike all the time with them.

Any more pics?

right now the trailer is loaded to head to wyoming on a elk hunt and it will be used as our camp also ill post a few when we get base camp set up and running the first week of dec

I think we should set up by the lake. That way when we are not elk hunting we can ice fish.

Yep, we will have to do what we discussed and take the two man out with the pick up.

-

-
yeah im in ND right now but will be heading back to WI soon itll head to the lake then

I saw that you installed an empire DV35 heater. I'm about to do the same, but with a smaller heater and trailer. The question I have is, the instructions for the heater say it should be installed on a wall with minimum thickness of 4-1/2 inches. Looking at your trailer, I can't imagine your walls are that thick. The walls on my trailer are only about 1", and I was wondering if you've had any issues with your heater, or did you do any modifications to your trailer? I'm thinking of just installing it the way it is on my 1" thick trailer wall, but wanted to see if you had any ill experiences with your installation first.
Anyone else have any comments on this?

The heater install was straight forward no mods were required just make sure its secured to the studs not just plywood
