Morning all,

IW......hope the hand throbbing eases up soon  :(

WS.....awesome pics   sitting on the deck last night after dinner, heard a fawn start crying to beat the band  :o  thought maybe a coyote or dog had grabbed it up  >:(  MrWW went to investigate, found the little guy "hiding" in a brush pile, appeared to be ok so he left it alone  :-\  a little while later we see MaMa doe coming across the edge of the woods heading towards the hide out, the crying stopped shortly there after :)  guess the little fellow was just missing his mom  ;)

Eddie....good luck with the trout, hope they're hungry  @)

IFF.....100*  ???   :o  you can keep it, that's a bit much even for me  ;D  how's the store set up coming along  ???

TT....the gel stuff works pretty good, I use it inside & out as there's always a lot of ants around due to the firewood stacked :flex:  enjoy the grandson's party ;)

H2L......kudo's Dad on mowing the daughter's lawn      hope she's recovering nicely from her surgery  :)  sounds like a good weekend to NOT be on the lake  ::)

I think most of the household chores are caught up now.....except power washing the deck, which is this morning's project. Then a nice bike ride somewhere for the afternoon   Tomorrow morning we'll be packing things up & heading west to Erie to be ready to hit the water first thing Monday morning

Have a good day at work (OS ;D) or play. Stay safe.

Good evening  think I might have finally found a primary care doctor health care network that also has urgent care and specialists . Trying to stay positive  past few days getting tingling /mild pain from mid back down arms at times, cough still present worse at certain times.
IFF I hope low humidity is present with the high temperatures be careful when working outside in my opinion low humidity and high heat presents it's own problems. Have relatives in Casper,Wyoming during one Summer visit had a day near 100 I did not realize how much body fluid  I had lost to sweat between the low humidity and ever present breeze/wind. I had to remember to hydrate here in NY. high and humidity usually come together so you are soaked in sweat after a short time outside.
Hunts2long nice you live close enough to help your daughter when the need arrives hope her recovery is going great.
Tom Turkey how was the graduation party. Glad to hear you found time to work on pontoon boat. May you get the ant problem resolved.
Eddie how was the fishing . We had a deer feeding on trees /grass here at the complex earlier in the week. I have not seen her in a couple of days hopefully found new feeding area and not hit by a vehicle.
Ice Wanderer safe travels to your wife. May any itching be minimal as you recover from hand/arm surgery.
Wallyworld did you get the bike ride in today. have a safe and great trip to lake Erie.
Whopper Stopper your driveway looks great. Happy to see your bait hole was discovered, a question for you how does one easily tell a sow from boar bear when hunting. Also how long until the cubs are not totally depended on their mom. great photos had aa doe leave her fawn by front door of house a few years back . We kept a watch on the fawn mom came sometime after sun went down thankfully starting to worry after a while fawn might still be there in the morning.

A pleasant evening to all.
Steve

                   Good morning ER's,
It's 50* and clear on my hill this morning, with a high of 75* today. Weather for the week looks good.
Steve........I can give you some insight on bear sex identification.  A boar bear generally have a rounded head with ears farther
apart, their necks are short and stumpy. While a sow bear has a longer neck and a pointed head with ears close together. I hope the new
primary Dr. can identify your problem quickly and get you on the mend. :flex:
Wally........How was you ride yesterday? ???
Bud..........100* is way to hot for us here in the east. ::)
Eddie.........Were able to wet that line yesterday afternoon?
Today my #2 sons daughter is having her 5th B-Day party so I will be there to see her open her presents!
If any of you missed it but there is a 13th triple crown winner Justify, what a great horse!  :flex:
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out doing!

Good Morning Jeff, Morning Everyone,
Clear and calm  53* this am, low 70's for a high today. Must say, this weather sure has been embraced with open arms.

Jeff...had to take a pass on the fishing trip last evening. By the time I got done helping out one of my sons with a few projects around his house, I just opted to kick back and have a few brews around the fire, lol. The boat and rods were ready....even the Mrs. couldn't believe it as that's all I've been talking about all week.   ;D. Happy B'Day to your granddaughter, hope you have a great time celebrating it with her today!
Steve...that's great news you located a primary Dr., hope they can get those ailments under control soon for you!
Wally...hope you had an enjoyable safe ride to end the day yesterday! Safe travels and best of luck with your trip to Erie...enjoy!!
Bud...that's some hot weather hanging around out there, dang! How did the wiring go for you yesterday?
Mike...nice to see you stopping by, hope everything is going well for you Sir!
Marv...got to hand it to you, your work ethics are impressive to say the least! Thought for sure there would be an asphalt rake in that picture, you da man!!     Some awesome pictures of the bears and fawn, looks like those gummy bears are working, thanks for sharing!!
H2...hope the mowing went ok at your daughters yesterday. Hope the lake settles down after this weekend and you can get back on some fish!
Tom...glad you got a jump start on the Toon! Hope your sunburn isn't too bad this mornin!

Going to have breakfast with my Mom this am, and this afternoon we'll be heading over to my niece's to see Baby Ryan! He was baptized quickly before his surgery and they chose today to celebrate that with family, so looking forward to seeing him!
That's about it from this end.....cawfee's on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning IW, Eddie! Good Morning Everyone

IW Happy Birthday to your grandaughter, hope she has a fantastic day

Eddie I came close to buying and asphalt rake and at the last minute decided to do without, I laughed when you mentioned it. Enjoy your breakfast with your Mom! Hope she is doing well at the home

mr.clean to reiterate and add a little to what IW said, The young sows & boars are hard to tell apart, but the mature bears whether it be a sow or a boar are fairly easy to distinguish, especially after you have looked at a few. A big sow will generally have a narrow nose but will have a heavy short barrel size looking body to her. A big mature boar will be long in the body and have a thick nose throughout, bigger than a pop can round and usually will have a crease in the middle of the forehead, some sows have the crease but usually they are the older sows that no longer are able to have cubs. Like IW said the ear placement is recognizable also.

WW glad you had a good ride, best of luck on your fishing trip

Yesterday afternoon the wife and I headed north to take my Sister and husband out for their 40th anniversary. Being they live half way to the shack the wife and I made a quick run to the bush to drop off a couple hundred pounds of bait. I was tempted to check the pit but being it's only been a couple of days I decided not to. I am going to go back up midweek and grab the camera card and replenish the treats if need be. By the time we got home it was almost midnight.

Every year the girls go on a weeks vacation to northern Wisconsin to kayak and fish. I found out a couple days ago that I am also going for a couple of days. They are leaving next Friday and I will catch up with them on Sunday through Wednesday. I have never taken a summer fishing trip before ??? Today I am going to check over the old boat again and start getting ready.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday no matter what's on the agenda  As always satay safe.

Good morning fellow 9:45ers . Quick post before I try and get some more sleep then head to medical facility I mentioned to make appointment to see a doctor.
OldSalior my apologies keep forgetting to comment on your birthday. Hope you had a great day celebrating.
Tom Turkey ditto Eddie's words on your sun burn.
Ice Wanderer Happy Birthday to your granddaughter enjoy the party. Thank you for the bear male female identification information.
Whopper Stopper congratulations to your sister and BIL on reaching 40TH wedding anniversary . How is your sister's recovery post surgery . A safe trip to you and the girls may all of you catch fish.
Eddie enjoy the breakfast with your mom and party for baby Ryan.
Wallyworld  I've reached the same stage with fishing equipment especially now given my limited storage space compared to the house and time I actually get out fishing. Always fun to browse new Gander Outdoors opened north of me last month have to get there some day and see what merchandise they carry.

A good and safe Sunday to everyone.

59* this morning. Highs of around 80* all week but it is guessed to cool down at night. Today is the anniversary of the 23* bad freeze years ago. This week end was the asparagus festival at my home town. The rain probably quit over there so the parade must have been dry. I have not gone to the festival in years. The sun burn is healing. I have had much worse over the years.

The party for the grandson was mostly family. As usual there was way to much food. It is sad that people do not RSVP letting you know how many to plan for. The drive down was hairy at times with some heavy down pours. When we got there the rain quit but it remained cloudy so it did not get hot. Sitting around like that is not good for my body so I am going to rest up today.

Rain is coming in again this morning so I will not be getting any work done on the toon. When I bought the toon I had to totally rewire it as my cousin that I bought it from was planning on stripping it and using at as a swim platform. That took quite a bit of work but was worth it. When my brother found out what I paid for the toon he said he would have bought it instead of me. I did not bother to tell him he would have paid more than what I paid as this cousin and I are very close.

WS It good to see that a bear found your bait.  Now you need to have a good boar find it too. I hope you have the bait stored where it can not be gotten into by the bears. A friend had bird seed stored in his shed in plastic garbage cans. The mice chewed throught the plastic so the huge boar that hung around could smell it. The boar tore throught the wood siding on the shed to get to the bird seed. The guy has pictures of that boar laying on the picnic table just feet from the window of his camp eating apples. His grand kids were standing by the window wide eyed seeing the bear up close and personal.

ww We went to the Cabelas at Dundee Michigan shortly after it opened. It was not to crowded when we got their but when I went to check out I thuoght that you could have died of a heart attack and not be found until the store closed as there were so many poeple in there that you would not be able to fall to the floor it was so crowded. Like you I do not buy much any more as I have a few tackle boxes that are full of stuff that I do not use any more.

Good Morning All, Well I stayed hydrated, and spent most of the time in the shade.  Yeah sure glad to have the humidity on the low side, down side of that is it makes wild fires worse.

Didn't get to the wiring, as he was not ready for it, but did figure out how the steering setup had to be taken apart that was a real puzzle for him.  I pointed out that because he had taken good pictures of the wiring board he could put it back as it was, once he decides on where to place the board, he has it completely re-decked and looks like brand new, in a show room.  once he gets the new console and seats placed, my bet is it will look like it just came from the factory.

I have a feeling, I will not be outside much today.

Hope all make the best of their day

              Good morning ER's,

It's 52* and clear here on my hill with another nice day ahead.
Bud........Wow!  :woot: 101* that's almost the temperature of Hell, you can have it. :roflmao:
Eddie......It's amazing how much we do for our grown kids, I'm not knocking it I enjoy helping them when I can. I never had
my father around when I did things I generally did most of things myself. Kudos to you for giving up the fishing to help them.  :flex:
Marv.......I have a blacktop rake, it comes in handy when raking stone or crusher run, [stone and dust]. I remember seeing pictures of
the girls fishing trips, I hope they and you when you join up with them have a great time and catch lots of fish. :flex
Wally....... Good luck on your Erie trip today. Even though you have most of everything, it's fun looking! :woot:
Steve.......May the new Dr. get you in good health.
Not much going on here on my hill today, my wife is going to attempt to mow the grass. I informed her yesterday that she will probably
have to bag the grass clippings because it's so tall. I have a mulching mower and they don't do well in taller grass. She gave me this look. :%$#!:
I hope everyone has a good Monday either at work or out on the water.

Good Morning ER's Temp is down to 61* now, Well back to the car pool today.  Smoked up some pork ribs so will take a rack along for sampling. Today expecting a 16* cooler day of 84, one thing I noticed is the tomatoes begging for water,

Put a rat out of its misery it was looking for water too.  ;D

A cool 45 degrees this morning. The computer "bugs" paid a visit over the weekend. I would start a post and it would lock up, seems OK this morning.

I heard that one of the hi-performance boats flipped some time Sat night. Someone had to be air-lifted to Albany. Should get more about it today. Someone gets hurt, or worst, we may get a speed limit on the lake.

Thanks for the well wishes for my daughter, she is doing fine. She misses her work outs.

Have a great Monday and I hope WW and Mr. WW are catching some big walleyes....h2l

Busy day so I am posting later than usual

I took a bunch of stuff to an online auction place to get it on next weeks auction. Hopefully it sells better than what I took last time. Even if it does not it is gone from the garage. I took my lab for a ride along wanting to find a place to let her run. I took a wrong turn so I did not go by any of the public land to let her run. DUH

When I got home I started power washing the toon. It went better than I expected as there was not as much green yuck to blow off the carpet. I still need to clean some of the black stuff off parts of the toon. I bought a coupe of HD grill covers that need to be remodeled to cover a flip seat and the controls. The ones I have bought to fit them have hardly lasted a year cost way more and leaked. Tomorrow after a Drs. appointment I will see if the motor wants to run or not.

I had planed on going over to the other place next Saturday to work on some fire wood but with almost 90* guessed that can wait. My son has most of it cutso it just needs to be stacked in the sun so it wll dry over the summer. I asked him ow my saw ran on the years old gas. he said fine and he had it almost used up. Gotta love Seafoam

Around supper time a gal knocked on the door asking about our natural gas bill. She would not leave just kept pushing. If I had been dealing with her I would have thrown her off of the property. It was not long and I saw a State Cop car go through making me think that maybe some one called in a complaint about her.

Good Evening Tom, Evening Everyone,
Looks like I'm not the only one posting this evening!
Had troubles getting on this am, kept timing out before getting a connection for some reason.
We're starting at 5 tomorrow, so thought I'd post this evening while the getting is good, lol.

Tom...hope the Dr.'s appt. goes well tomorrow, best wishes with the Toon firing up and no problems!     Good idea waiting on that firewood, no need to mess around out in that heat.
H2...wow, that's too bad about the boater! I didn't see much of the local news over the weekend, but I'll look into that to see what was reported. Good luck with the fishing this week!
Bud...glad the heat wave is over for you, 100* is too hot!! Hope the job is going well...How were those ribs?
Jeff...guess we're very similar in several ways.  Helping out the kids when ever we can is what Dad's are about right...so, right back at ya!    ;D  :flex:    How's that hand coming along?
Wally...hope you and Mr.WW landed on a pile of Erie gold! Best of luck and looking forward to your report!
Marv...I've got my daughter working on that video as I type, crossing fingers she can figure it out! Hope there's no major issues with the boat, that's great you'll be able to join the ladies for the fishing trip this year, awesome!

We had a really nice time visiting with my niece and her husband, celebrating with Baby Ryan. You'd never know that young man went through the ordeal he dealt with as a newborn....he just looked wonderful, happy and full of smiles, he's a little butterball, almost 20lbs. now.  ;D
I held him for a few minutes and told him he had a whole lot of friends who couldnt be here but were wondering about him. Told him I'd be sure to let everyone know he was doing good...he drooled, that was good enough for me!   ;D
Well, an early start and lots of marble to go in tomorrow. We pulled up 85 pieces today and got 15 set back. Good group of guys, everyone is working out really well. Looks like some rain making its way in for Wednesday.
Have a good evening all...will catch up to you all tomorrow!

Good Evening Everyone, Eddie, Ribs turned out good, fall off the bone they did.  About 10:30 their truck rolled in with 14 pallets.  Crew got right after them, sorted things out by department, moved a lot to the floor and put it its place.  Only 1 to go for tomorrow.  Tagged about 800 items for an advertised sale that goes to July 8.  We wrapped up at 1:30.  What we got done was the results of the crew working like a well oiled machine.  :flex:

Called my medical provider to select a replacement Primary Care Doctor, didn't get the one I thought I would, but not very concerned.

Eddie, Think I would like your starting time too, if doing what you doing.

H2L don't you just love that when it happens

take care, see you in the morning.

Good evening, guess I'll join the crowd and post now . Got to different urgent care facility today that is part of a medical network that has primary care doctors and specialists . Received another nebulizer treatment and prednisone injection have prescription for prednisone . My follow up is on Wednesday the 20Th hoping someone can get a handle on my problem doctor I saw today mentioned one of the two "C" starting words I do not want to hear cardiologist trying to stay calm and see what happens down the road.
IFF may the high temps leave your area in coming days. Is the crew your currently working with going to be at your store? being part of a team where everyone pitches in makes for a good work environment .
Tom Turkey glad the grad party went well ,what are you grandson's plans for college. May you be able to get the toon out in near future.
Eddie good to hear baby Ryan is doing so well health wise. How is your mom doing did you have a good breakfast together.
Ice Wanderer did you wife get the lawn cut without to much hassle . Also have mulching mower thankfully mine has multiple height adjustments.
Hunts2long glad you daughter 's health is improving ,tell her not to go crazy when she is cleared to resume gym routine. Any updates on the power boat accident.
Whopper Stopper may your boat be in condition to make the fishing trip. Sure the three of you will have a great time.
Wallyworld hope you and Mr.WW have boated personal best for walleye's on your trip. Looking forward to your report.

Stay safe my friends chat with you tomorrow.

Eddie......I'm glad to hear that baby Ryan is doing so well. Little kids are tough little buggers, the things they go through? ???
Tom........It's a good thing that you didn't have a hard time cleaning the toon. :flex:
Bud.........You guys were busy in the heat, how did you hold up?
Steve.......I hope the Dr. is wrong on his diagnosis, good luck and I hope the meds work for you. :flex:
Today I head to the VA to get my bandage changed and find out how much longer before the stitches can be removed. ???
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday either at work or out fishing.

Morning all,

Just a quick update before heading out. Landed 4 eyes yesterday from 17 - 23" no monsters, but just nice healthy fish.  Going to hit a different area today and see if we can find a little more action.

Have a good day at work or play.  Stay safe.

48 this morning. Getting ready to hit the lake.
From the info I have gotten on the boat accident: He wasn't hurt too bad, had a head injury so took him to Albany Med. I heard he was back at the campsite on Sunday. Monday morning they were still working on getting the boat up. Channel 10 was the only news that had any info and they talked about "maybe time for a speed limit". I know some of those boats are going 60/70 + mph. Day and night. Maybe 30 years ago, but there is just too many others using the lake these days...have a good day...h2l

Good Morning ER's

Jeff, I am holding up pretty good, unloading freight is like they are paying me to exercise  ;D The crew I mentioned are all of us that will be at my store.  the hands seem to be healing up and the carpal tunnel symptom is going away

WW, good luck at the different area, hope you have great day of catching.

55* of mountain fresh air for starters this morning.  Then up to think about 85*  I shouldn't complain about the heat, Just remembered while driving cattle truck in Kansas hauling fat cattle to the slaughterhouse it didn't go under the 100* for 21 days straight.

Got to get a move on so I am not late to the car pool.

Good day to all.

Bud

Good Morning Everyone

A sticky 66 getting ready to head into the mid 90's in a couple days :%$#!:

Good luck with the stitches IW, hope you are ready to get them out

WW good going on yesterdays catch  Hang on tight, today there may be a 34" eye heading your way!

I was trying to share a video from my trail camera of some bears. Some could see it and some couldn't ???

I am going to try this, if it works for you let me know. I have never done any Youtube stuff so I am not sure of the correct settings. This is from last week off my trail camera, we cut out some but for the most part this is what was on it.

Hope you all have an excellent day  As always stay safe!

Good morning sunny day forecast to reach mid seventies with some rain moving in over night. Besides seeing a doctor stopped at my town hall yester day and signed permits needed for house. Still have to do some things before permits are finalized under town or state law now must have smoke detectors in each bedroom and carbon monoxide detectors on each floor also need electrical inspection of areas covered by the permits. ::) Guessing the inspectors have some device that allows them to locate and view electrical system through finished walls.
Ice Wanderer assuming your wife got mowing done or your waiting on one of your sons to do the job. All the best at VA may the stiches be removed soon and start post surgery therapy.
Icefisher -45 hope the injections are not to painful and help your condition. Have you started work at new job?
Wallyworld thank you for the report. Better luck today finding and boating some 30 inch plus walleyes.
Hunts2long glad  no deaths/deaths from boating accident. I've watched a few speed/power boat races on television appears at times most of boat hull is off water surfacemaking boat easy to flip. Testament to physical conditioning of boat and safety gear worn that no one suffered a serious injury.
IFF happy to read your temperatures are dropping makes it easier on your body when you leave air conditioned building and step outside. May your fellow employees maintain the good moral and work ethic.
Whopper stopper good video assume the same sow and cubs as in photo. You may want to contact WI. fish/game (whatever agency is called) and inquire if they know about cloth you can put around trail camera that reduces electromagnetic field given off by the camera making it less of a target for the bear. I was watching a new program on Animal planet Sunday night (Extinct or Alive) gentleman travels the world looking for living animals that are listed as extinct . He was on island off coast of Africa and put these clothes on his cameras.

Have a good and safe day. best to all like Wallyworld who are fishing.
Steve

                   Good morning ER's,
It's 57*  and clear here on my hill, showers are in the forecast for today, I saw some on the radar to the west! ???
Wally.........Thanks for the report, I hope you were able to locate some monsters, they're out there. :woot:
Marv.........I hope you can get some chores in before the heat gets too bad. :flex:
H2L..........I don't get local channels but I did hear about the boating accident from a friend that lives down near
                    Broudalbin. ???
Bud..........It's good to think you're getting something and getting paid for it. :roflmao: I'm glad that your symptoms are going away,
mine subsided too but the damage was done. M Dr. had me put my thumb and ring finger together and he could put his finger in the center
and pull through them with ease. A healthy hand you shouldn't be able to do that. ::)
I-45.........How many more injections will your Dr. recommend?
The Dr. at the VA was pleased how my hand looked, I think it looked like railroad tracks in the palm of my hand. lol . Stitches come
                    out next Tuesday.
I hope everyone has a good Hump Day, Wednesday either at work or at play!

Morning all,

Well yesterday was SLOW to say the very least  :'(  Ended the day with 1 eye, 6 perch, 4 sheepsheads  :-\  Seems it's been a tough bite the past few days due to the east wind, at least that's what I'm hearing. Wanted to fish again today before heading home this evening, but some t-storms & winds in view so probably just going to have breakfast then hit the highway.  Waves 3-6 feet are a bit much  ::)

Have a good day at work or play. Stay safe.

Good Morning everyone. 54 this morning.

IW, it funny, as of yesterday there was nothing in the paper either. My take is that SOMEONE wants to keep it out of the news as it brings a lot of money into the area that wouldn't be here this time of year. Speed limit goes on the lake, they are gone.

Warm, windy day on the lake yesterday. South wind (that I like) came up mid morning. By noon there were 2 to 3 footers rolling. I drifted spinners for quite awhile with only one hit.
About 2:30 the wind had dropped so I went back to jigs.  Ended up with 6 walleyes and 1 very nice perch. All were caught very shallow. Couple of the walleyes were 18 inches.

WW, you are right it has been slow fishing, but it is early. My cousin has been doing very well in the evening with the bass. I keep telling him, anyone can do that but he loves those brown things.

GSLFF has their contest this Sat. Not sure but I just may fish it. Depends on how HOT it is going to get.

Have a good day...h2l

So much for getting the toon running yesterday. The indoor hunny do list took preference.

When we got home from our podiatrist appointments yesterday, I had an email from the last one, that was a butcher, with a survey in it. They are not going to like what I have to say about the brutal way that guy treated me. After yesterdays appointment I came out with great feeling feet. With the former guy I came out with my feet hurting and bleeding.

WS That was a good watch of the bears. I can not figure out what the attraction so many critters have in game cameras. I got a call from my buddy that had the bear picture on his camera last week. He sits in his blinds just veiwing the wildlife almost every night. The night before he noticed some thing laying in one of his shooting lanes. When he walked down there he found just the hind end of a fawn. It had not been killled there but with the crows congregtating a little ways away it must have been killed where they were. The big question is what  carrried it there. He has quite a few bob cats around, plus the bear. A cougar was seen a little while ago about a mile away. Who knows as the legs were in a very grassy area so no tracks.

The best thing yesterday was the wife told the assn. she would be done doing all the free gratis work for them after Labor Day. It is about time as they have been using her for the last few years. They will not even reemberse her for the expeneces she has from doing all the work.

Good afternoon fellow 9:45ers looks like I'm in for some rain possibly Thunder storm depending how soon cold front reaches my area and temperature at time of it's arrival. Hopefully winds will not get to high and bring down more trees or limbs and cause a power outage. I'm feeling better cough still present thankfully not constant. Seems eating must stimulate something always cough after having a meal or snack.
Ice Wanderer happy to read your hand is healing weel and stiches are coming out next week. May the hand be ready for action when your annual trip to Maine comes this Summer.
wallyworld sorry to hear fishing was slow and weather is bringing you home early at least you avoided the skunk.
Tom Turkey hope you knocked a few things off of indoor honey do list and find time to work on pontoon  during this week. You and your wife seem tocare deeply about your community and it's lake  the assoc. should help pay what it can for her time and materials expenses involved in doing their work.
Guessing Eddie's early start time for work is keeping him away from Ice shanty or his 2 year old granddaughter has played with the computer again.

A safe and pleasant evening to all.
Steve
