The Gathering
« on: Oct 04, 2010, 12:29 PM »
Hello Fellow Iceaholics

Despite the weather last year, the gathering at Moraine went well.  Who is up for a second annual get together?  Sunday December 5th looks to be a good day, the Steelers are playing late, the Syracuse Ice Show is the following week, after that it is getting close to Christmas.

If enough of you are in agreement, I will make arrangements with the DCNR for:
Sunday, December 5th
Noon until 3-4:00PM
Everyone bring something.

Parks Guy

Parks,

Can you give me directions please?  I'll talk with my friends this weekend and start planning for December 5th.  Thanks for putting this together and inviting other fishermen!

"The Gathering" sounds like an ice fisher's kinda shin dig, almost tribal. Wish I was closer, but hopefully I'll be buried filling orders from 1st ice by then.

Are any of you guys fishing the NEIT events this year?

Sounds like fun. I'll be busy working the Cabelas Ice days in Hartford CT, and some guys will be at the Hamburg location for thier event................. .........but it sounds like a good time.
80% of Americans are unhappy with the direction our once great Country is heading. Yet 80% of Americans insist on buying blue jeans that were made in China, coffee filters that were made in Taiwan and anything else that was made anywhere but here........wonder if there might be a connection?

Hello Fellow Iceaholics

Here is an update.  The pavilion at McDanels Landing on the North Shore of Moraine State Park is confirmed for Sunday, December 5, from noon till dark.  Electricity will not be available, generators would be helpful.  The restrooms will be closed, but the trees are open.  So that we do not end up with twenty bowls of potato salad, please state what you will be bring when you confirm attendance. I will bring a coffee pot.  1Mo Fish, you are in charge of the weather this year.

If you are using Mapquest
The address is:
North Shore Road
Portersville, PA  16051

I look forward to seeing everyone again.

I'll bring some beans in a crock.  Need a long power cord for the generator?  Last year we brought our generator that was so loud it was a bit hard to talk. ;D

count me in this year if the roads are o.k. wasn't gonna make that trip from johnstown with all that ice last year. ( of course if we had fishable ice i would have made it). don't count out ice that early. been some that early before. that would make for an awesome gathering!             mick
