Are you sure you were at Sayers :o
The really nice one's I've gotten there were always 9" to 10" and thats not to great. John, did you hear what ever came out of the meeting they were having to reevaluate the panfish?

Something has to be re-evaluated with that lake, unless the goal was to have an overwelming population of dink panfish.

That's a problem with the panfish enhancement regs. If people kill off all the fish over 9''(or 8'' for gills) that they catch; the prime breeding stock is constantly being removed. A classic formula for small fish. When the perch population crashed in Green Bay, (a little larger lake than those in PA.) the limit had to be reduced to 10 before there was a strong rebound, and that took at least four years. Lakes that receive a lot of pressure are better off under general regs IMO, since a broader cross section of fish gets removed. I hope I'm wrong about Sayers, but I've watched the upper size steadily decline on Northeast lakes with the same regs, in direct proportion to the increase of pressure. The lake (who mustn't be named)  is still producing decent numbers of blue gills and perch, but there seem to be a lot less large (9"and up gills, and 12'' and up perch) fish. I'd try at least contacting the PFBC; if enough people voice a strong opinion, maybe they'll do something.

i haven't heard any word of mouth info, but the 2010 fishing summary still has it listed as an panfish enhancement program.
