Favorite ice walleye rig/technique
« on: Dec 14, 2007, 11:33 AM »
Just taking a survey of what's your favorite walleye set-up through the ice.

Mine is a tough call. I've really had some success lately with perch Vib-e's, so I'll go with that. Simple yet effective.

Regards

my favorite way to catch eyes varies from lake to lake, i move so much that i dont tip-up fish. know people that do alright doin it just not me always searchin for active fish.  variety of jiggin lures with jiggin raps bein my personal favorite , nilsmasters, and buckshot spoons.  only tip my spoons with meat not action lures.  got some other hard to find baits that i use also, but i wont mention them, lol.

a jigging spoon, be it a pimple, buck shot, forage minnow.. and either an intire minnow or just a minnow head, when they are active.  When they are inactive, sometimes just a plain hook with a minnow.

If on big water like the Great Lakes, Buck-shot Rattle Spoons. Smaller in-land lakes would be a minow/jig combo. Reservoir would be a tip-up and a river would be a rapala jiggging minnow, the type with a hook at each end.
