please tell me the lake
Sebago...if it's frozen....plenty of motels around.....I guess it depends on what you want to catch?  The Jackman/Forks area is another good bet.....lots of different lake choices  :-\

My 2 cents: rent a cabin on Schoodic! great fishing, great scenery. and you can jig up your own smelt for bait, right off shore!

yep capt the edges of the ponds are starting to skim out about 10ft. or so. ross lake camps are another one if you want a remote fishing experience. i think they have a web site also. i know macannamac does. big whites, togue and brookies. all native fish.

Make sure you bring your checkbook so you can bail yourself out!
I like fishing the Belgrade's - lots of lakes, not too far away.

Flagchaser - You've gotten some great advice.  You couldn't be faulted for Long Lake.  Top o Maine cottage rentals - Phil and Linda Bechard - on the water / full ammenities and MONSTER salmon.  Also saw an ad in the last Maine Sportsmen for like $450 for a week up there.  If you were feeling a bit more adventuresome, I would go with Jacksmelt's suggestion - Ross Lake Camps or Maccannamac - remote and less people (also less ammenties depending on what you are looking for)  Two places I have yet to get to but will.  Togue, brookies, and whitefish.  You can't loose either way.  Enjoy.

Come on we all know you can't catch fish on Rangley.  Too many sleds on the ice from Grenvale Cove to Island to City cove.  Its just to much noise.

and you can not fish Rangley through the ice legally

Tom
