Can't wait.  I just started ice fishing last year.  Strange how I can't even get through October without plotting my winter now.  Started my ice shack last night.  Its going to be a 6' X 8'.  Almost changed it to 9 or 10 feet long but I showed great restraint.

I find it strange that Maine makes you wait until a certain date to start ice fishing.  Someone explain.   ???
Bring on the ice!!!!!!!  <br />

only for "game fish"  you can fish for pike, bass, etc....as soon as there is ice!!!!  I was Pike fishing in early December last year!

Matter of fact....I think it was Dec. 16th.....first flag of last year produced this:

I will be placing it on Sebec Lake.  I also have a portable for moving around and going to different places.  I like Sebec and will most likely spend half my fishing days there.

Hey Walk..... Dont forget Sebec doesnt open until Jan.15th. Where abouts do you fish on the lake??? I like the narrows, nice big white perch humpies with a togue or two possible as well.  :)

Two weeks to go to other places I guess.  I fished up around the point from Peakes Kenny.  It was somewhat of a pain since they never opened the gate to the park due to lack of snow - two miles into the beach.  There were three shacks just around the point.  I mostly went during the week and did not see too many people.  I fished for togue and salmon.
