Was out Sunday afternoon off memorial beach. Most people were right on the beach and over by the boat ramp. I wandered off in to the deep section had anywhere from 3-5 inches couple ridges with what looked like pretty thin ice right near it. Drilled about 30 holes searching for bait and fish one hole produced about 15-20 small perch

Fished by goat island on Friday and had 2.5-4”. Fished Memorial Beach boat ramp Saturday and had 5”. With a lake this big there are always areas of concern. We watched a ice boat crash into and partly go into the water at a pressure ridge running across from Second Island (peninsula at Memorial Beach) the ice was very thin there.

Fished Reid Smith cove last week per my wifes request(I hate the place but her family has land there) anywhere from 4 to 10inches of ice. Fishing was awful as it usually is

I was there on Sunday as well the fishing was bad and the ice was about 6 to 6 and a half inches. I will say that a crack opened up underneath our shanty and by the time we left the crack was about 2 inches wide (very scary) so to anyone going there be careful and keep an eye on the ice.

I was on about 6 inches or so on Saturday. Some softer spots with about 4 inches. Anyone know how the ice did with the rain on Sunday and the crazy wind Monday? I know it has been very cold following that. I can see eddies pond from 395 took some damage in the shallow areas but the entire pond is still pretty much locked up. Thanks guys!

Middle Pond has a lot of open water right now because of the wind

A lot of the lake got ripped open from the rain and crazy wind we had and I’m sure what ever ice is left is weak. FD and PD are urging people to stay off the ice.

Someone went though on south Pond Bates Point. FD ordered everyone off the ice. Glad my friends were there to save the guy because he wasn’t getting himself out.

Webster lake sits very close to ground level and is very south - basically in CT - not a lake that holds ice well - and not a lake worth going through for!

Sounds like the gentleman was not being careful/spudding and may have deserved to take a swim.

I saw that open patch the other day. Everywhere else is 7in. Guy should of been more careful.

Be careful out there guys. Someone went thru the ice by Bates point this morning. He was saved. Just like early ice...., on late ice I always bring my ice pics & check the ice thickness with a chisel as I move to an area. Stay SAFE out there...
