Very happy with this and have a tone of scrap kd wood to run through it. Also decided to put v match cedar on the inside and add 4” of foam insulation to the floor for added buoyancy. Lol. This shack floated for 2 days last year in March. Made out of 2” blue foam and should float almost 2000 lbs. 6 x 12

Not much better than sitting next to a wood stove. I would be asleep in no time. Can you share any build details? Is it framed with 2x2 and did you cover the outside of the foam? What is the estimated weight?
Any other pictures to share?
Thanks!

I’ll find build pics tomorrow. 6x12
Floated for 2 days then I took it off. It’s a little lower on left side due to storage and cast iron cookware. I’m adding styrofoam to the entire floor now. 4 “ should give it close to 1000 lbs more of buoyancy. Shack only weighs roughly 600 lbs.

I wrapped the outside with Typar then painted plastic cardboard signage from the local stores for siding. 2x3 trusses
2” rigid foam

Woodchip I agree
I love the comfort of knowing this shack floats. It makes it less stressful when the ice changes quickly. Worse comes to worse I canoe out and drop an anchor.
