I would say there are probably more people who fish perch than flat fish. Perch fishermen don't normally catch crappie unless they specifically target them as opposed to fishing for flat fish where catching some crappie is common. I think it is normal to not be concerned about something that really doesn't affect someone. I believe the state wants to list crappie on the game fish list and pulling them off the salable species. The problem I have with this is once crappie are removed then what else will they go after. As someone said to me out on the ice yesterday...crappie are the low hanging fruit. I would hate to see changes on any level because it is nice to have the choice to sell fish or not.
