Wayne County this weekend

Fished this morning on a lake a mile north of Wallenpaupack. Still had 6”-7” of good black ice and minimal water on top. The edges were not great and had to walk off a dock to get on. With the temps already dropping and overnight going to the teens Wayne County should be good for this weekend. Hopefully not the last weekend.

If the weather forecast holds for Monday through Wednesday of next week, this will be the last safe weekend. 

Highs in the mid 60s, with overnight lows of 50, will eat through ice.  Next week has very few temperatures below freezing, so while you might get lucky and have an isolated cold lake, the ice shouldn't be counted on next weekend.
