Ice Preston area

Hello jiggers been watching weather, it has been warm over thier. I am few hours away was wondering about ice,is it safe . Was thinking about twin lakes

Most lakes are fishable around here. South lake on twin is fishable I’m not sure on the north.

The extended forecast looks favorable for keeping ice around too. A few days above freezing but it looks like snow on top of the ice could insulate. But each night for the next 10 nights is forecast to be below freezing with some nights in the teens. Looks like a cold front the middle of next week too with a high of 30 on Wednesday and a low of 15. Hope that holds true. I am hoping to get over there Feb 2-4.

north lake on twin was fishable on Martin Luther King Day, but ice was only about 6 inches thick, and the edges were concerning. most nights have been fairly cold, but not many have been REALLY cold.

hopefully this cold snap will do some good things for us
