Size of jig

Hauling up "3 houses"... portable or permanent? Did you all just buy 3 new ice fishing huts...

- What area are you planning on taking these "3 houses"
- What target species
- What type of bait are you planning on using

No jigs I fat fingered that. No we have old pop up campers we have had for a couple of years.  We will be targeting lake trout with the jigs. We will haul them out with our wheelers. I went to buy some bucktsils but they have multiple weights.

Bucktail jigs topped with a bit of sucker meat is my go to... Aj's Bait and Tackle sell some awesome jigs. I typically use that setup. Not sure what others use but I've had decent success on that!

 I don't know if you're coming from out of state but no lead jig heads under an oz. in NH. On a side note I personally never have luck with bucktails but do well with spoons. Good luck!

AJ’s has nice bucktails tied up that are reg friendly in under 1 oz - steel. 1/2 oz is a pretty good size to start for togue, or in a spoon or pimple for that matter. Can go up or down from there.

Bucktails with cut sucker or a dead shiner work well for lake trout as well as rainbows, other options for jigging that work well are Kastmaster’s and Swedish pimples.. also remember that everything needs to be single hooked, they have a great selection of these at Newfound Trading Post.. "everything needs to be single hooks"  does this mean that one would need to get rid of treble hooks on a Swedish pimple or jigging rappala by my law?

Single hook with one hook point when using bait.  No bait,  trebles on jigs OK.
