Wow what a beauty!
I have never weighed any of my fish over the years but I have caught lakers like that in the old days on Winni!
Nice work!

In the spring mid summer I always hook on to nice lakers on winni. This is the biggest laker that i caught in sunapee. I did manage a 29in laker in newfound last year after iceout

Congrats on your Sunapee swimmer, outdoorslife!

You wouldn't have a pic of the 21# Winni laker to share with us, would ya?
I'd love to see it.

That would be great if you would!
I can understand about the drag of looking for old pics though.

Never seen a laker over 20lbs out of winni. Elsewhere in the state yes but for some reason not winni

;D  Picture of my Winni PB laker.  Released and guessed the weight at 16 lbs (39 inches).
Anyone want to post some pictures of big Winni lakers.  Maybe my 16 lb fish grew to be 21 lbs.?
It lived just north of Diamond Island!

Oh haha. 3 or 4 years ago in 19mile bay and next to the grave yard average laker coming out was around 24in. Many people caught lakers in 30in range.my largest laker had a cusk inside of it and it was caught just outside of blackey cove. the I think winni still has a few state records in it. The highest amount of large lakers js probably diamond pond up north. The guy across rileys has a picture of monster caught there a few years ago i believe around 33lbs.

33lbs would be quite a fish. I think that would even beat the Maine state record, and would crush the NH record that has stood for 60 years.

I couldnt believe how big it was. I though he caught it in canada or somthing. But he claims it was caught there.
Side note:
If you go to the winni museum they claim people setting lines with 100 hooks and pulling out 15-20lb lakers as there average size. Filling up carts of them and pulling them with oxen

Don't think it's 33#, that would be a state record lol

It was estimated at 38lbs? Someone caught it an it weighed 19lbs and some change I believe.

:o Coincidence !   NH Record Laker (28 lbs) and Maine Record Laker (31lbs.)  where both taken in 1958.
